I have absolutely no clue...I could probably add up all the receipts and contracts and stuff, but I think it might scare me.

I used the budget tool on The Knot when i first got engaged, and I know without a doubt that I haven't stuck to it at all...

I have an idea, at one point I had a budget with all of the big things included. Lately though, I haven't updated it to include the little things, which DO add up!

I added up our obligations a few weeks ago - I had NO idea how much we have already committed to spending!

I am so over budget it's not even funny. (about $20k!!) And the bad part is I only kept track of all of the major vendors, not all the other crap I am doing - labels, gifts, all the small things. I think FI is ready to kill me. I stopped using the 'wedding account' and am using my own money. I have $30 to last me till Thursday. I am OUT of CONTROL....

well we have not added it all up yet but we have a ball park budget i know we are goinf to spend more and not even relize. We just pay everyone a little at a tilme so it doesn't hurt the wallet

i guess i'm the only odd one of the bunch, so far we've spent...drumroll please:

$3219.52

this does not include stuff my mom has paid for (my dress & accessories, my daughter's dress & accesories, and the flowers) OR other incidentals along the way OR what we have left to pay!!

and next week we meet with the reception hall for the 75% 1 month before the wedding fee!!

You're better off. I have an overly detailed spreadsheet of every single $$ I've spent (down to postage and even when I ordered samples of invites, etc.). It's INSANE how it all adds up

I'm neurotic. Each time I make a purchase, it goes in my budget spreadsheet. This has columns for budgeted, actual and then a column to tell me how much over I am in each one.

Me - Anal? Yes. Within Budget?

The only thing it does is that each time FH looks at it, he signs up for more overtime.

i knew from day 1 to the final day how much we spent....you really can't add it up till afterwards cause of tips.

you gotta keep track else i consider ya rich and just throwing money to anybody that once it (jk)

nah..you should keep track all along so that way, you can stay within a budget

you too with the spreadsheet my FH laughs at me...I have a spreadsheet for our budget and for the guest list and each file has a whole different set of spreadsheets in it.

I have a detailed spreadsheet that I keep updating so that we can stay on budget. Since we're paying for half of the wedding, I REFUSE to go over budget.

I agree with steflily though - everytime my FI sees the spreadsheet he looks for side jobs!

I know exactly what I have been spending, down to the dollar! my anal self created a spreadsheet when we first started planning so I am tracking everything! Trials, accessories, thank you cards, you name it, it’s there!

in retrospect, it is probably a good idea to NOT do what I did. You don't even want to know how much this thing is costing you! everytime I look at that spreadsheet I get sick to my stomach.
