does anyone feel like they just have no $$ b/c of the wedding? vent..

My fi and i are paying for this wedding. We are by no means having an extravagent wedding. .. i just feel like with all the regular bills we have- we live together- rent, student loans for both if us, car lease, insurance, cc, and more... plus saving for a wedding. i am barely living check to check .. i tutor and teach extra help classes in school nd he bartends to make extra $$ ( i used to but had to quit it was too much!) but still im broke.. no extra $$ for me.. I need a shopping spree

Plus im turning the big 3-0 next week... yikes!

im just in a venting mood... im going to refill my wine glass.. :

My dear, I am in the same exact boat. My parents are paying for our reception (THANK GOD!), but we are paying for everything else, plus trying to save for a house. We usually have to choose food shopping or paying bills. We have learned to survive on the least amount of food possible for two weeks It's pathetic, but we had it down to a system. LUCKILY, my parents have offered us their house to live in until we get married, RENT FREE! Talk about two people who love us! So in December, when the lease is up, we will hopefully see a light at the end of our dark, dark tunnel. But honestly, our bills are more than our rent every month So we'll see just how much we can save. Good luck and hang in there my dear!

Same here. Luckily for us though I too am living at home rent free to help save money.
FI car just died so now we have to get another one for him and it is like hello, where is this money going to come from!
I just keep reminding myself that no matter what happens at least FI will have each other forever and ever

We also moved home, since we were having a house built, but it is taking forever. I constantly feel like I have to watch my money, which I never really had to, so it stinks!!!

OMG, we are so broke that we both bought new cars!! Let me explain: by buying new, less expensive cars at lower interest rates, we lowered our monthly car payments and saved on insurance. Combined we are saving over $200 more per month. Plus, our cars were starting to need repairs so now our cars are under warranty. Don't know if that makes financial sense in the long run, but for now it works! Besides that, we're so broke we couldn't even go out to dinner for my b-day yesterday!

i am in the same boat. i have to work 2 jobs to pay for this wedding. most nights i do not get home until 7:30. this totally ****s. sometimes i just wish that we would have a smaller wedding or elope! our parents are paying for some, but the majority falls on us. i have been so stressed about it.

sorry guys to make everyone sad i just needed to vent. After the wedding, our next project is saving for a house.. thats not even in my mentality right now.. im just broke from my bills and the wedding. i guess there will be a light at the end of the wedding tunnel...

I hear ya.. We are paying for our own wedding also. He is overly worried about money, and I am the complete opposite. We did cut corners with alot of things like flowers and invites. I came home with a rediculous quote from an invitation store, long story short - I found more reasonable invites. Hang in there. It all works out in the end...

thats us - we just deicded we can enver go out to dinner again - and my birthday is in 2 weeks too!! even finding money to by presents for the bp, pay the venodrs, etc will be tight......

to all of you. My FI and I are in the same boat, we are paying for the whole thing ourselves, but I do all of the worrying. He's happy-go-lucky, he must be thinking we're going to hit the lottery or something.

I'm so worried about spending all this money, I keep telling him we should elope. It would be cheaper to go away to a beautiful island and get married there.

I don't know about you girls, but if one more person tells me not to spend so much money on a wedding, I'm gonna blow!!! It's easy to tell me that, but then they expect to come to our wedding.

Am I nuts?

I totally agree with you. Some people are so oblivious to how much weddings really cost. A few people have said that same thing to me about how much money FH and I are spending. Meanwhile, they definitely expect to come. I plan on being broke and working my butt off to pay for all of this. I think my FH plans on hitting lotto too! YOU ARE NOT NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
