Nope your not nuts....people do not realize how much weddings are!!! Yep I am broke and sick of it...but its worth it in the end!!!

You'll make it! You'll see how great everything turned out at the wedding and be so proud that it was because you and FI paid for it all and you'll see how wonderful it all will be.

in a way im glad were paying for it b/c we can have the wedding which ever way we like and no one can tell us different. itll be ok in the long run. moneys just tight now... im turning the big 3-0 this week and he feels bad b/c he doesnt have the $$ to throw me a surprise party ( i did for h im for his 3oth but thats when we had the $$) i told him i dont want one- i would like a little $$ for a mini shopping spree though.. hey don't we deesrve it sometimes for all of this hard work were doing?

I dont know how we are going to do it but we are- we have daily expenses that come first- we even pushed the date to may instead of march- but i get things as i go and i have not tallied up everything because it gets me depressed- i read every **** article on how to cut corners and still have the wedding we want- but I am also having fun planning i am so excited and good luck to all the couples that are paying for the wedding themselves its not easy-

Yes we are broke to. We are paying for the majority of the wedding ourselves. I am a poor teacher and my fh is unemployed. He was laid off the day after he bought me the ring. Its almost 5 months now and its been really tough. he just gave up his apt and moved back home with the parents because its cheaper to live there. He is job hunting everyday. He just recently started getting interviews. The only good thing tha came out of this is that he was able to finish his MBA a semester earlier. So believe me BROKE is my middle name!

That is the luck of our nyc brides. Jobs are scarce, I have been unemployesd since March and currently finishing up my B.S. I thank god I am getting married in 05 but still need to start saving money. My fiance and I live rent free (thank God) but I am still striving for the best possible weddings. I cut corners,by changing the date by the invites, no rehearsal dinner(ne need to pay for them to eat twice), and going to a honeymoon at the off season. But I just think alot of this stuff is just plain old expensive, Limos, catering halls, wedding gowns, wedding rings. There is only so much you can save and still have a gorgeous wedding.FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!

Totally- we are getting married in Nov AND are in the process of buying a house! I just feel like as soon as a vendor (especially hair dressers) hears that it's for a wedding, the price immediately goes up $50. It's so frustrating!
