OMG - are you serious?? Do people in this day and age still actually think like that?
Frankly, your virginity (or lack of ) is non of her business!!!
I would tell her to take a flying leap and find other things to worry about. wow - sorry you have to deal with that!

His mother is one of those, you owe me because I raised you, type. It isn't any of her business and the woman isn't right in the head, but still I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

Yeah...really random posting and issues. Did you tell her that you're not sure that girl exists? Like my DH would say 'they still make her?'

ETA: And to answer your question...nope, didn't have that problem. In fact, my MIL was an amazing friend while I was dating DH and wanted to make sure I had dated and 'lived' so that I would have no regrets...gotta love progressive thinking women!

That's really weird. Especially because you are living together. That is way out of line for her to even think about. Tell her you're a born-again virgin

I wish I had your mother in law to be.

She's my mother in law (I'm a newlywed) but yeah, she rocks. I'm sorry you have so many odd issues.

OMG...haha I guess I cna understand her wanting that, I think a lot of moms secretly do, but it's unrealistic to expect that. Like I was watching an old episode of Growing Up Gotti where they are set up with 2 girls and Victoria Gotti talks about how she hopes they're 2 nuns on the way to the convent and that she wants her sons bed with women who will do everything for them that she does. i was like 'ewww.' but I do know a lot of people in my family who are like rthat, even in kmy generation, who believe they have to serve the hubby, etc.

As far as virginity, my FMIL and FFIL keep insisting that FH and I move in together before we get married as a test run, but I think that's only because they are convinced that we'll realize we're making a huge mistake and call it off And my FIL's have been making comments about us having sex since we were 17 and gave FH condoms when he went off to college. so I guess virginity isn't an issue.

my FMIL is a pretty religious Catholic, but she's also somewhat modern and open minded. She's made jokes about me wearing a white dress and how that of course means 'something'.

besides, FH and I are in our 30's. I think we're well past that stage

my mil doesn't care...

MY mother, on the other hand, is like the woman you describe. My mother is very narrow minded and old fashioned when it comes to sex before marriage.

She expects everyone on the planet to be a virgin until marriage.

nope, def not the only one. My mom has loosened up a bit more from how she was a few years ago, but she's still judgemental.

I feel bad for my brother fw - whoever she may be

My mom is the same way! I tell her that when I stay over at Fh's place he sleeps on the couch and every time we go away together, she wants us to get separate rooms!
