Does anyone have a memory they wish they could erase?
...or a 'Foot in Mouth' moment?? Where you wish you could freeze time and take it back?Mine would be when I started crying one night talking to my FH...and telling him that it I couldn't remember the last time he took me out to dinner or surprised me with flowers...he was so, so upset and really hurt. I apologized and felt awful (i think i was at an 'emotional' time of the month)..
Well two days later he proposed..and told me how he had been saving for my ring for months...and although the proposal was the happiest moment ever, I can't help but still feel this sick feeling when I think of how much of a brat i was...
Especially when he is so good to me.

haha - i had a similar one. i was mentioning to my best friend that kev kept complaining about his ripped jeans, but then he would go out and buy dvds/cds/video games. what i didn't know is that she (the daughter of our jewler) was actually helping him pick out my ring! The reason he couldn't afford new clothes was cuz he was saving up for my ring.
She still taunts me to this day
(though this still doesn't explain all the dvds and such
)

But maybe if you had not had the fit he may not have realized whatever he needed to realize in order to propose...
Just my thought - i think it all happens for a reason. The good the bad and the ugly!

You're right actually...he proposed earlier than he thought cause he wanted to do it and show me why we were having 'poor dates' for a few months, lol...
I know things happen for a reason..I just always have that irish catholic guilt hanging over my head! haha

Oh I hear you on that one lady! My poor FH has 15 years of CAtholic School and I have 15 of Sunday School! We are constantly reminding ourselves that we are not being 'punished' when things are going wrong!

Re: Does anyone have a memory they wish they could erase?
I don't know. i have countless painful things that i'd prefer not to remember but...i know this si going to sound cheesy and disingenuous, but..I don't think I would really erase anything. Every experience has made me the person who I am, the painful ones have made me a stronger person, and I don't know who I'd be without each and every one of those experiences. If I did something stupid before, it's one lesson learned and one less stupid thing to do in the future.

Re: Does anyone have a memory they wish they could erase?
my fathers brothers wife and my mom got into an argument and my uncle although it had nothing to do with him and my father and my father raised him stopped talking to my father. even when my dad was in the hospital after a heart attack he didnt show up. i was furious he wasnt 'allowed' to visit his own brother. well when my dad passed away we called his so called brother and told him and he had the nerve to show up. when he came up to me to extend his sympathy i told him all i have to say to you is that you will feel guilty for the rest of your life. my father sacrificed for you and raised you and you turned your back on him. you will feel guilty untill the day you die. he dies 3 weeks later in his sleep
needless to say i wish i never would have said it and feel horrible everytime i think of it

Re: Does anyone have a memory they wish they could erase?
Lord knows... I have hurt some people (not physically) in my life and even if it wasn't a 'huge' thing in the big scope of life.. I have trouble forgiving myself. (I usually say to myself.. 'you should have known better'.)It stems from both childhood and adult experiences. I actually (when all the kidding is done) have a very high standard for myself.

Re: Does anyone have a memory they wish they could erase?
Are you kidding? When I think of half the things that have come out of my mouth or things I have done as a teenager and even when I was in college I could just cringe. Most of those moments could have been avoided, had I just looked at things differently. It's a bit different now. Now I just share similar moments with people in which we all have moments where we wish there was a rewind button on our hand.
