I was gonna get Mike added to the bottom of my Tattoo. But someone told me that everyone they know that had someones name on their body something happened to them LOL....
My dad has his first wifes name on his arm with a heart. She died in a car accident when they were married. My dad never told us about her I would ask and he would say oh its an old girlfriend my aunt told me the truth!

Not yet after we get married we are both getting eachother name tattooed on our body. I have two tattoos now so I am going to put him name next to one of them. Probably the one on my lower back because it will look better there. However, I have a panther on my thigh and FH is getting the same tattoo this weekend on his arm.

FH doesn't like tattoos and gets all bent out of shape if I even jokingly bring it up.
I wanted to get a little pumpkin with our initials since we are doing a halloween theme, but he would probably leave me!!

A friend of ours had her DH's husband's signature tattooed on her hiney as a wedding present. Kind of like a cabbage patch doll!

nope....and I am pretty adamant about it. The only name I will ever get will be my child, and even that doesn't sit too well with me. I guess I have this *thing* about putting someone's name on your person. I don't even have my own name, but I do have a japanese translation of my name.....
I hope this doesn't offend anyone...it is just my belief

I keep forgetting that DH even has a tatoo, to be honest it still shocks me when I see it. I have no idea why, I guess he just doesn't seem like the tatoo kinda guy! Anyway I asked him and he said nope never a wife only kids' names. Besides since my name could be a guy's or a girl's name people might raise an eyebrow at him

DH has two tatoos that he got in HS, and which now he doesn't like anymore.. I have none but want to get one , though not his name or anything like that... neither of us are big believers in the spouse/mate name thing on the other person...(no real reason..its just not 'us')
DH always says that the only other tatoo he'll get is our childrens' names when we have them .. otherwise he's tatt'd out

When I was in HS my BF and I at the time (who of course was the love of my life) got the same tattoo, not names, just identical.
We had a bad breakup and I covered it.
Actually I was with FH when I did and he paid for it!!!

My great-grandfather had a tatoo of a girl with her name on it... I always wondered who 'Jenny' was. WHen I was a kid they said it was a nickname for my great-grandmother...recently I learned it was his girlfriend from before he met my great-grandmother

NO WAY! Never would I put a significant other's name anywhere on my body! Maybe a child, or mother/father sister/brother if they passed away, but you never know what can happen in the future. Tattoo's are forever!
DH had a double heart tattoo with his x-girlfriend's initial and his initial under the hearts.
I wouldn't marry him until he got it covered up!!!!!!

I agree with you Marriage is forever! But what if God forbid I was to die in a car accident or something else, and Frankie was to get married again and start a family with someone else I would not want him to have to explain that or have the constant reminder on him arm or where ever. His memories should be enough.

Marriage is supposed to be forever! BUT, there is an extremely high divorce rate, unfortunately!
I say go for it if you have the guts. You could always go through lots of pain and money to get it removed!?
