does anyone here have acid reflux and/or other stomach problems like IBS?

I have been having these problems and have been on and off meds for several years. today i got so sick i am afraid to eat anything! one doctor tells me to eat more raw veggies for fiber and the other one says i need to stay away from it!

can anyone recommend a good doctor? i will go anywhere at this point!

I've had acid reflux for 5years (since I was 23) which I am told was kind of young - gives you an idea of my stressed-out personality, huh? They say to try & stay away from coffee, onions, tomatoes, orange juice, anything that is acidic. When I lost weight believe it or not the reflux got much better too, but I still have it & need to be on medication every day. Of course, I drink & eat all those things I just listed, so I should probably listen to my own advice!!!

OMG -I feel like you all are describing my symptoms to a tee. I also tend to feel nauseous a lot and it has been driving me crazy. I already discovered that I have to stay away from onions, that's a killer for me, and milk and milk products seem to be bad also. I guess I better mention this to the doctor next time I go in for a visit

I've got most of the symptoms described as well. I couldn't figure out what food triggers my problems, but I'm on nexium and found that acupuncture really helped alleviate a lot of the stomach issues.

Also, my advice to all of you who are suffering is to go get thorough allergy tests done!! I found out that heartburn and digestive issues can be a result of a food allergy. I am halfway through my testing and I've already discovered that I am allergic to tomatoes (in addition to severe seasonal allergies). So go get 'em done! Even if you end up not being allergic to anything, at least it's something else you can rule out. Good luck!

I had to cut my honeymoon a few days short cause of this, and WOW is it scary. I am on meds now & planning to see a gastro asap!
