Re: Does anyone know about....

Hey - I know that there are a few brides on here that are getting married there - but check BHB and Newlyweds too since there are probably several brides who have already been married at those locations.

Wish I could help more - but I'm also an OOT bride who's only been to a few places, good luck!

Re: Does anyone know about....

Carlye on the Green is located in Bethpage State Park home of the 2002 US Open. It is surrounded by a golf course/park like setting. I've been to a wedding there, even before they refurbished it for the US Open and it was very beautiful. Many places to take pictures. My boss's daughter is getting married there. I think he said it's one flat price no matter what day you pick.

Larkfield Manor is located right on Larkfield Rd. in East Northport right near where I live. I've never been there but FH has. It's close to the road and has a very small area where you can take pictures but it's basically more of a small garden adjacent to the parking lot. Of course, unless you want seriously wide shots this won't matter.

Did you check out the websites? Do you have anyone here who could go and check them out for you?

Re: Does anyone know about....

Sorry, I don't know the reception sites, but I can respond to your questions about shoes or favors purchased online. I bought my shoes online at a clearance price and they gave me 14 days to return them if they did not suit. Also, I got samples of place card frames, invitations and programs sent to me. It costs a couple of dollars for each sample, but I like to see examples before I commit.

You can FM me if you want any recommendations.

Re: Does anyone know about....

Carlyle on the Green is beautiful!! We almost booked there, but we really wanted a Saturday night wedding and knew we would not be able to guarantee 200 people.

My only 'issue' with Carlyle was that they did not offer an official tasting. They did offer for us to have dinner at their restaurant which serves much of the same food, however.

It really is a gorgeous space and they have some interesting features as well. You can rent an additional room for an 'after hours' party complete with a jazz quartet (or trio maybe?) and a rolling cigar bar.

Re: Does anyone know about....

I went to a bridal show at Caryle on the Green last week. I thought the place was classy. I did not have any food though. No tasting? I would not feel comfortable booking a place without trying the food they will serve.

Re: Does anyone know about....

I'm a Carlyle bride and love it. The prices do vary but for a Saturday night you need to guarantee 200 people. we ate at the restaurant and the food was great and my parents have gone to a wedding there and said it was the same as at the restaurant.

good luck! if you go to Carlyle I used Sue Perrigini--she was great!

Re: Does anyone know about....

Thanks you all, this helps me a lot!! I did go onto both sites, that's how they became my top 2 choices after losing the Riviera. My soon-to-be mother & sister will be going to Carlyle & Larkfield this week to check it out for me. I'm trying to get all different perspectives. With the sat .... Is the 200 guarantee for sat in general or just sat night

thank you for the tips for on-line buying, I am real interested in some things and was a little weary bout the idea.
