I think NOVEMBERBRIDE said it perfectly. When someone kills and takes away the life of two innocent people trying to make this world a better place the way these two did at point blank range they give up their right to live. JMO

Citizenship test is in multiple languages, but you know America makes it hard for immigrants.

I agree with Rachel, thanks for the support from those that understand and those that don't. BTW, did you hear about the cop in crown heights who had to shoot and kill and pit bull b/c the owner ordered the dog to ATTACK the cops that knocked on his door? ANIMALS pure and simple......

Shannon - FH used to be in ESU, who routinely serve drug warrants on these hideous people (think helmets, shields, machine guns, battering rams) and guess what the drug dealers do? THey surgically remove the voiceboxes of their pitbulls and Rottweilers so that cops can't hear them barking and so are not prepared when the dog comes flying at them when they kick in the door.
Don't EVEN give me the whole the dog is just protecting their owners and why are the cops kicking in the door BS that some of you are about to spout. These dogs are trained killers, and their voiceboxes are removed for no other purpose than to attack unsuspecting police officers. And they use battering rams because drug dealers typically do not politely open the door to admit police officers and lead them to their stash...
My dad was a postal employee...and 10+ years ago he was held up after leaving a post office (he collected the money at the end of the day)...luckily my dad beat the pulp out of this guy - right after he called my dad an 'old man' (broke his hand doing it), but now you see the postal police following postal cars/trucks with money in the back...
you know what my dad got? $500 reward (with taxes taken out!!)
can you imagine? holding up the mailman??

Rachel, Jerry was working with ESU during 9/11. He wasn't stationed there, but he was assigned to assist them down at ground zero. I think it would be funny if my DH knows your FH. BTW, I hate pitbulls! (watch me get **** for that too!)

FI searches peoples luggage for bombs, his protection latex gloves.
He has no shield, he has no gun, he wears latex gloves. Every bag that beeps, every person that beeps brings on the unexpected.
Its a tough world out there and its only going to get tougher.
I was on my home this morning from an interview. It had to be about 11am, maybe 11:30 and there were 3 kids on the train. No more then 16 years old. The language on these kids was disgusting. shouldnt those kids have been in school??? where is the respect??
Its disgusting and its a tough world and unfortuantly we all have to fight it.
Rachel: I totally agree at 15 how can they be parents. That was the big question that raced through my family's head. But she was one of the few lucky ones. She had a good background, stayed in school, stayed focussed and she knew her mistake but didnt want her daughter to suffer from her mistake. She is one of the few.

Also imagine your husband in a fire condition with smoke banked down so bad they can't see. They begin to climb the stairs to make a search and A the bannisters are full of nails and B part of the steps cave in as a booby trap, and what's waiting for them when they get up the stairs to search for vicitms..the beloved no voice box pitbull.

Shannon, I've always wondered why there isn't an NYPD Wives' Auxiliary, or Volunteer Group, or support group? Have you ever heard of one? An organized group of wives to share and support and hold bake sales and crap?

I know in my aunts pct they have bake sales, bc she makes my mother BAKE the crap for her......
and I would be the best one to fight for higher salaries..
When my AUNT who almost has 20 yrs on the job told me what she makes with ot I literally spit my drink all over the place....... I make WAY more then she does and I don't protect anyone but I protect their $$.
Everyday I wonder why she does it and she loves being in the busiest pct in the city with the highest crime rate!

Rachel- that's a great idea! I told you about the fund raiser my friends just had.. different reason, but they did raise a lot of loot! If there isn't one, maybe you guys can try to start one. I'm sure there are many many wives that share your same feelings...

Let's see who's at the Pier's.. if there are other wives, we can always ask. Maybe when all the wedding planning is over, we can work on one. Just like John Anthony's had one for 9/11 - maybe we can start calling and asking? You never know.. perhaps this site can help? Maybe some of the vendors can chip in prizes too? It's for a great cause!
