Does anyone know how Kew Gardens is???

we are going to look at a co-op in Kew Gardens this week, and we do not know anything about the area. The co-op is across from Forest Park, does anyone know what that is?

What is Forest Park? Is it just a park?

Re: Does anyone know how Kew Gardens is???

Forest Park is fabulous! It's one of the last fully FORESTED parks in the city. Want to go for a walk in the woods?? Go to Forest Park.

I grew up in Richmond Hill which also borders Forest Park. We played in that park all the time (and I partied there too as a teenager!)

Kew Gardens is a nice area. It's upscale for the most part and has a large Jewish population as I remember. The LIRR stops nearby as well as the E & F subway trains at
Union Tpke. It's about 20-30 minutes to the city from there.

There are GREAT restaurants and shopping on Queens Blvd and also a little further west in Forest Hills on Austin Street.

Most of the apts are all pre-war construction so they are likely on the larger side. Good luck! I would LOVE to be able to move back there.

Re: Does anyone know how Kew Gardens is???

Kew Gardens isn't bad. If you are into the 'pre-war' style of building (higher ceilings, bigger rooms, etc.)... you will like it there.

Just make sure you check out the parking situation before you make an offer. Drive around the neighborhood in the evening hours (after 8pm) to see what type of parking is available.

Since I worked late hours DJing... parking was a huge factor for me. I had to turn down quite a few nice co-ops because of lack of parking.
