Does anyone know of a waterfront area, beach, lake in/close to Garden City area

looking for location for wedding pics..thanks ladies

Garden City is in the middle of the island.
You would have to go to the North Shore or the South Shore for beach or waterfront, about a 20 minute drive in either direction.
Not sure about a lake in the area, maybe in a park in Hempstead.

Only thing I know about in Garden City is the Gazebo but it has no water.

hempstead park has a lake and its not too far from garden city, i think its exit 18 off the southern state, i think there might also be a large pond in valley stream state park but am not certain about that one....then theres long beach thats not too far south of garden city i mean its a good 35 minutes but not that far.

i think you're better off trying long beach, its not far from there. Garden city doesn't really have places on the water.

old westbury gardens is nice - i dont think it has water but nice background for pics. if you really want the water you can try bar beach near port washington, which isnt too far from garden city - but the rest of the scenery around it isnt great.
otherwise as the above bride mentioned long beach might be your best bet. its like 25 minutes away.

if you take the Southern State parkway and get off at exit 17 (can't remember if it's north or south.....but it's the 2nd one when you're coming from Queens or Brooklyn).........you make the right onto the road off of the exit....then you take that for like 3 blocks....you'll see an Exxon/Mobil station- make a left- there's a park w/ a gazebo and a small lake there. This is considered West Hempstead, but I'd say it's maybe 10 minutes or so from Garden city. HTH!
