Does anyone know the law about children sitting in the front seat?
How old does the child have to be, or is there a height requirement?

I just saw this on a DMV site...
'Do not put small children in the front seat of vehicle that has an air bag. Put a child that does not use a safety seat and who is less than five ft. in height in the back seat. '
So it looks like children under 5' have to sit in the back?

if the law says age- it should be changed - it should be based on height and weight
i used to work on airbags - and it iamazing the damage the can they do - but they are really helpful too
after watching the films - i would never put a person under a 100 pounds or 5 feet tall in the front seat - the impact is in the wrong place and can really hurt
if you must put a child in the front seat - i would try to have the air bag deactivated or i would take the seat and move it as far away from the airbag as possible - slide bottom of seat back

They actually said on the news the other day that children shouldn't be sitting in the front until age 12-13!

I thought the law said under 7 - BUT - It depends on where the seat belt hits - if it comes across his neck - no good - My son is 7 also, he is in a booster seat because he's not big - the seat belt would cut his throat if we were in an accident. Oh and no front seat if there is an airbag. Kids under 12 in the backseat.
