Re: does anyone NOT have a DOC?
from what i've been told, Flowerfield does an amazing job of running shite so this is why i'm extremely skeptical of getting 1. plus i have a BP member who is like miss organizational and puts her foot down when need to be . she already told me she plans on handling stuff

I'm not getting one either. I can't see them making that big of a difference. If something goes wrong I'll have about 200 people I can call on to help me out

I don't plan on having one. The GCH gives us two bridal attendants so I think I'll be fine.

im not having one. the whole idea of someone telling me what to do will not work.
You girls all realize though that the DOC doesnt tell you what to do...It's the other way around...You tell her/him what to do...
My DOC put it in such simple terms for me (not her exact words, this is how i remember what she said...) 'I am like another mother on the day of your wedding...I will protect you from all the things that are going wrong and get things done the exact way you want them to be done...'
EXACTLY!!! the DOC does NOT tell you what to do at all. Maybe a wedding planner i can understand giving their opinions but DOC is just day of coordinator so when they come on board, all vendors are booked and most things are done so you just tell them what you are doing and what they have to do. They take care of everything you have done.
I dont think its 100% necessary but i didnt want to deal with anything nor did i want my bp or mom to deal with anything either, my mom did alot before the wedding and wanted her to sit back and relax and if anything to have someone helping her instead and same with bp wanted them to enjoy and if god forbid something went wrong didnt want them to stress or anything plus there are things the bp and mom need help with. My DOC had to help my girls with a few thing and assisted mom and MIL with certain things too. But if something went wrong i didnt even want to know at all. but again its up to you and many ppl get married without one so it's fine either way honestly.
For me it helped bc day of something happened with a BM well her bf actually and my DOC drove her to pick up her bf(he had a car accident) then brought her back to where we were taking pics. There were things at my house morning of that NEEDED to be at the church. My DOC left my house early and got to church early with some flowers that were delivered to my house instead of church such as FG kissing ball, MIL's bok and his grandmothers corsage, program basket, rb pillow and a few other things. She also made my menu's the week of my wedding when i ran out of time. Although its for the day of the wedding they can help out before too. Such as paying your vendors their final payments 2 weeks before wedding so you can finish up on other things and not run around or anything you need help with. Theres more to but ive written long posts on this before so i wont get into ALL the details now lol. Also yes the maitre'd and bridal attendants help but ONLY with things regarding the RH. If you are getting married in a church they are not there, and they are also not at your house while you get ready. Or if anything goes wrong with a vendor they don't handle that. My maitre'd and bridal attendants were amazing don't get me wrong, but they had nothing to do with vendors and everything before the reception.
The price for one on average is about $500-600

Re: does anyone NOT have a DOC?
I am having one because I don't want myslef, FH or our parents to have to worry about anything. I want everyone to be able to enjoy themselves at our wedding. yes we are having a matre'd and bridal attendent but the DOC makes sures everything goes smoothly throughout the whole day. I do not want to get a phone call from my limos saying they are 10 minutes late I want them to contact my DOC I don't want to know any of that.
