This might be really mean- but im not crazy about my ring. Its smaller than what i anticipated. Im not a real flashy girl either i would have liked a ring that was about .70 points and my ring is about .50 in a solitare setting. So i have been wedding band shopping and i cant find anything i like b/c i dont really like the E-ring. Is anyone not wearing there E-ring after the wedding and planning on wearing the wedding band only?

I love my e-ring FH and I picked it out together and he went above my expectations! I made sure my w-ring matched it perfectly so I could wear both for ever.
Not to be rude but that is not what the poster asked. I know personally that you feel bad enough about having these kinds of feelings and if she wanted to hear how much other people love their engagements rings and will wear then forever and ever she would have asked ' Does anyone else love their engagement ring'
exactly. if everyone wants to say how much they love their ring, please start a different thread. this is for people who are not happy with the ring they received. personally. i really wish my ring was bigger, the center stone is only half a carat. and everyone else i know has at least a carat or more. i know i sound really shallow. maybe on our 5th anniversary or something we can upgrade the stone.
I DO NOT THINK A NEW THREAD SHOULD BE STARTED EVERYONE SHOULD BEABLE TO VOICE THEIR OPINION HER TOPIC DID NOT SAY 'ONLY REPLY IF YOU HATE YOUR RING'
Why are you yelling?
UMMMM NO!!! She should not NEED to write ' ONLY REPLY IF YOU HATE YOUR RING' what she posted was telling enough IF YOU CAN READ
Excuse me I can READ!!!!! but maybe some of us LOVE our ring but just want to let her know it is ok if she doen't and that in time she will grow to love it or maybe upgrade........geezz....lighten up people should beable to express what they feel not be held to only the topic especially if we have something to say to make the person feel better

I was too taken aback that when this poster voiced her concern for her ring, some people starting writing how much they loved theirs.
I'm sorry..its RUDE. How would it go over if someone said 'i can't afford the place i want to get married at , i'm so upset' and people wrote back 'i just booked the place i love even though its so expensive!'.
It makes the person posting feel badly. Just think a little before you reply. Think about how you'll make the other person feel. This isn't about giving an honest review of a reception hall, or telling someone you don't like jewelry they picked if they ask for honest opinions....this situation turned into making someone else feel badly, whether it was intentional or not!
I could not agree more!!!!
I agree too.
It drives me crazy when people reply to a post and dont answer the question. People dont even fully read the original post before they reply. They just want to type something so they can rack up another post.
I think you should pick out a wedding band that you love and dont worry about how it looks with the engagement ring. You have to wear it everyday and you should have something that you love!

Re: Does anyone not like there engagement ring
a funny story....
my friends grandmother hated her E-ring. It was smaller than what she had hoped, and not the style she liked. So she 'lost' it, after a few years of marriage, just a few weeks before thier anniversary. And her husband bought her a new one, just the one she wanted.
Part of me thinks it's soooo funny, and part thinks it's soooo terrible, and part thinks it was a really slick manuver on her part....
I hope you find a wedding band that you love.

maybe down the road when you guys have more $ (like for your 5 yr anniversary) you can upgrade it?

Sorry but somehow I don't think someone writing that they love their ring but it is too big is going to make her feel better when she thinks her is too small.

Sunshine - I certainly didn't mean to offend you at all!!
To the others, sorry for expressing my opinion of my ring on a public forum!! There's certainly no need to get out of control for something like this. I didn't say anything like, 'well that's tough girl - take what you have cause we love our's!' She asked a question if anyone did not like their ring and my reply was no, I love my ring. That's all.
Pebbles - thank you!
Besides - how many topics have stayed on topic 100%?! Does it matter in the grand scheme of things - no! Can't we all just get along like us '05ers normally do!?

yikes! sorry, don't mean to offend, as i said before i'm not a jewelry person, so any diamond bigger than a dot i find pretty big and just not me.
i was just trying to say that for one reason or another, it's fine not to wear your e-ring everyday as long as your DH is ok with it.

Re: Does anyone not like there engagement ring
Some people may not like their ering but you ahve to remeber it is the thought behind the ring and the meaning of the ring that counts. The ring I have has a sentimental meaning to it. It is a brand new band with.75 diamonds in it. The stone is pear shape which was my fmil stone. The stone is raised up and is one karat in total. When I got engaged I wanted a round stone but after he told me the emaning behind the ring I cried and it became so special to me.
Remeber the ring has a meaning.

Basically what I was writing. After FH told me why he bought this ring, well I couldn't help BUT love it. Maybe you can ask your FH to talk about why he selected your ring?

Re: Does anyone not like there engagement ring
I think we're all being a little too dramatic here. i think it's great that someone loves their ring, and more importantly that she's with the right man...which i'm sure is more important to us than any of this:) Hey and that's what they make anniversaries for, right?...BLING UPGRADES!!:)

Re: Does anyone not like there engagement ring
To answer the question- I am NOT wearing my e-ring after we get married.
Not that I don't like mine, I am very lucky that I love it, but - it does not go with any band I could find that I would love, so instead - i bought a beautiful and practical band I could wear and I am only going to wear my e-ring on special occassions. Plus, it is not a diamond and it can get damaged easier.
HTH!
P.S> don't feel bad at ALL!! Just give it time and get a band you like and you will eventually be so happy to have it.
Plus, when we are engaged, the e-ring seems to be the BIGGEST DEAL - but it is rarely looked at when we are married!!!!
Good luck!!!

Re: Does anyone not like there engagement ring
I love my e-ring my fh picked it out and he said nothing else compared to it. My w-ring has diamonds in the middle of the band. If your ring isn't big enough for you do something like that. so you have more than just e-ring diamonds.

agree... I know you said, 'Not to be rude' but personally I thought it was a little rude of you to say that. Just because someone disagrees or mentions their own opinion, doesn't mean that they should go to another thread. I thought the point of this site was honesty. I am always honest... if I don't agree, I say it. I would rather have someone tell me the truth then pussyfoot around it.

Re: Does anyone not like there engagement ring
If you thought it was rude sorry but I just think it was even MORE rude at what some of these people posted. 'I would rather have someone tell me the truth then pussyfoot around it' If she was asking ' Do you like this idea/shirt/whatever' THEN you can really post whatever your opinion is. But I think in this particular thread if you did not ' Not like' your Ering there was no need to post here.
