My FH and I went to the bridal expo at the uniondale Marriot on Monday. When we registered, we filled out a raffle form for a free honeymoon vacation. I got a call today from the company that was doing it that said that they picked 5% of the couples that went for free gifts. I called her back, and she said that the gifts were as follows- a 3 day 2 night hotel stay in various hotels (she read off some locations- Orlando, Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Vegas, Atlantic City, New Orleans, and Honolulu. She said the hotels were Ramadas or Marriotts. The next gift is a $500 gift certificate for World of America online gift catalog. The last gift was 40% off of anything that the company that is giving us the gifts sells. They are a houseware company. Here’s the hitch though- we have to go to the headquarters of this company on Saturday at 2pm (we had a choice of days and times). We have to stay for the demonstration (she says its an hour to an hour and a half). They said there is no obligation and that we’ll get our gifts when we get there.
Anyone had an experience like this? Help!

Re: Does anyone think this is a scam?
Haven't had any experience with 'wedding' related ones but condos and coops do it all the time. Get 2 days 1 night stay in Florida but while your there 12hrs of your time is taken up with condo talk and walk. Not usually worth it unless you are really interested in the product the company sells.

we got one and its a scam. they give you a trip voucher but it got all these limitations and you have to call to confirm with in so many days but they dont tell you that. the guy was supposed to put a code on our voucher to and didn't. its a scam. don't waste your time
