Does anyone want a wonderful dog?

Does anyone want a wonderful dog?

This is really hard for me to post. Many of you know I lost my father last August. Two months before he passed away, he and my mom adopted a dog from the North Shore Animal League. My mom was never much of a dog person, but my dad loved dogs, and always had to have a dog. We had 2 dogs for years - both passed away shortly before they adopted Kimi, the current dog. My mom had a hard time taking care of Kimi. She never really wanted her, and I think having my dad's dog around is painful for her too. My brother was living with my mom for a while, helping take care of her, but he isn't around much anymore. My mom recently hurt her knee and is having a hard time walking Kimi. She's talking about bringing her back to the North Shore Animal League. I really don't want her to do that.

Kimi is a great dog. She's about 3 years old, a mutt, mostly black lab we think. She's great with kids, my nephew is 14 months and she is gentle with him. I can't take her,I live in a small apartment and my building doesn't allow pets. And to be honest, even I could have pets, I can't give her the time and attention she deserves. That was another thing my mom was saying -- she said that she feels like she's neglecting Kimi -- my dad loved and played with her all the time, and my mom just tolerates her, walking her when she needs to.

Ok,this was way too long, but if anyone is seriously interested in adopting a wonderful, sweet, beautiful dog, please send me a FM. My mom and Kimi live in Mill Basin in Brooklyn.

Thanks!

I know, it is a heart-wrenching story for any dog lover, I almost feel guilty telling the story to anyone who can't take her!

one last bump. Will have pictures after Monday when I go to my mom's house and take some. Its so weird, we have so many pictures of my past dogs, but not too many of Kimi since we adopted her so shortly before my dad passed.
