That bad huh? Sorry to hear that...unfortunately I think you just have to grin and bear it. My brother's wife hates my parents and has let them know it very clearly over the years and has now managed to pull him away from the family..
Please just try your best and remember this is your FH's mom. Sorry JMO..Good luck

my friend has the devil's spawn for a MIL...she would not let his wife's step dad (her ex) walk her down the aisle...she insisted on doing it...shows up in, and i am not joking...a shirt and pants..wearing sandals with socks! I wouldn't dress that way to go to church, let alone a wedding! She then proceeded to walk the bride down the aisle with the biggest sour puss on her face....all partly because they weren't getting married in a Catholic church...I just wanted to beat her for him...she just is a miserable person...i remember one of the BM's said something to her & she went off on them. My MIL is pretty cool thank god! Can drive me batty sometimes with wedding related stuff...but I consider myself lucky! Good luck!

Let's just say, FMIL called us the other day and asked me if I ever watched 'Everybody Loves Raymond.' I responded, 'Yes, why?' and she says to me, 'Well, I think I'm just like Marie (the mom), don't you?'

HMMMM...do I tell her the truth?

Before I broke up with my FH his evil mother wanted to wear white to my wedding, and attempted to justify it because my dress was ivory and hers was stark white! I was like it will be white with a HUGE red stain on it if you wear it. Well we broke up and I got rid of the B&?$@
Now she will be some other poor girls problem. I have sympathy for whoever has to deal with her.I could write a novel over all the stuff she did and said. evil woman whose own family openly hates her and she has no friends either!!

I am on everyone's side here....and some of these stories are very extreme.
However....I sometimes feel for the MIL.
I know that if I had a son, and he was getting married, YES i'd be thrilled.....but as we all know the MIL is the first one whose ideas get disregarded and thrown in the trash. I think MILs should be given more credit.
If given some involvement and we ask them for help.....they'll really appreciate it and it will come back to us ten fold.
I think that MILs are often discluded and brushed aside.....they should be made to feel more included.

I beg to differ...If they aren't paying for it - they need to be quite - There are things that they are included in - But it is really all about the bride and that is totally my opinion - But I can't stand when they think they should have a say and they haven't even offered to chip in or pay a dime ---
