Does anyone's job allow them to take their dog to work?
HR at my job is actually considering letting people with smaller breed dogs take them to work as long as they are: 1- house broken 2- do not bark alot 3- are not a distraction or disrupt your regular work day
I would love to bring my new Chinese Crested to work when I get her next month, but I am wondering if anyone's job allows this & how it is for the dog?

I take Tyson to work w/me a lot. I also work for my father and the company only has 9 people. Tyson's 10 lbs, hardly barks and is well behaved. My father also brings our family's two dogs in too. They help make the work day fly by.
Tyson loves coming to work, he sits on the chair w/me. I took him everyday for one week and then the next week he got upset when I didnt take him. Now I try to take him only 2 days a week.

We have quite a few dogs running ar ound at work... But then i do work in the pet industry

yes I do. I have a chihuahua we go to work every day- it's lots of fun and makes working SO much better
- edited to ad- my dog LOVES going to work. every morning she gets so excited to get 'dressed' and get in her bag!!!

I don't have a dog, but my boss brings his dog to work sometimes and its so much fun! And I see a lot of other people in the building bring their dogs. As long as you have your own space as in an office, it should be great! But I work on a college campus, so the environment is really relaxed there, and there's lots of outdoor space.

I'm self employed. I have brought Oscar to the office and had mixed experiences. He could not handle it for long periods. One time he just slept the whole time. Another time, he was good, but he did spill his water bowl and eat a packet of post-its!!!! He is usually a barker but he was okay at the office. Lately I only bring him if I am just stopping in (to get mail or something).

wow, I have to say I am glad to see that there are a bunch of different types of jobs that allow their pets.
I would never bring the 2 dogs I already have, but neither of them are as tiny & delicate as the Crested.
I am going to again talk to HR & see when this 'pilot program' will take place.

My doggy came to work once....Even non dog lovers...loved him. But he was here for a special purpose...to deliver my E-ring...was the most wonderful proposal I could imagine! Wish I could have him here every day!

i wish my job did! FH's current job allows him and his last job did too. and winnie peed in both offices.

I think I would bring wee wee pads with me...just in case.
A bunch of us are getting together to push HR to begin allowing this.

that is so cute! I would LOVE to be able to bring a little dog to work with me everyday. What a great companion. That is so cool that you can bring your dog to work

I brought Peanut to work once. But thats because they were doing some demolition on the house and tols us she had to be out. She was on her best behavior that day but I dont think Id be allowed to bring her on a daily basis.

So I had a bunch of us get together and present the idea back to HR, and someone from corporate was there also and they were like 'that's preposterous, this is not a zoo.'

yes, dogs are allowed but only if you have an office, they are housebroken, and don't bark!
