What do you guys think about insuring your E-ring?
Does everyone REALLY do it?
Does anyone have any experience with having to make a claim?

Re: Does everyone have their Ering insured?
Yes!!! Mine is under a separate policy like a few other posters. Just a warning about Home owners insurance and Renters insurance, it will only cover the loss of the ring in theft or fire and you have to have a police report. If you lose it on your honeymoon swimming in the Caribbean say, you are out of luck. I recommend to anyone, getting a separate policy. I'm more likely to lose it than get it stolen.

Yep, definitely insure it. A family member lost it right down the sink (which is my biggest fear!) and never got it back again. Its under my homeowners policy.

Mine is insured through our Homeowners Insurance. All I had to do was send them a copy of the appraisel. We are going to do the same with my wedding band.

I'm having mine insured. You never know if something will happen, but I say it's better to be safe than sorry.

I never got around to insuring mine...as a result, my DH doesn't let me wear it to work. I really have to get it insured...you just never know!

I actually didn't have it insured when we were engaged three years before the wedding, but upon getting both our wedding bands, we got all three rings insured and Husbands rolex through jewelers mutual.

Just do it, it takes nothing to get it done..I have a separate policy for both rings. I had a claim on my wedding band. I lost one diamond and I had to replace it for $400! I sent the bill into the insurance company and they reimbursed me. ETA: It's a rider on the policy. I pay $200/year.

I can help if you'd like. I work in insurance and can write the policy alone, not as a rider to a Home policy. FM if you want

Re: Does everyone have their Ering insured?
I actually just got mine insured (after almost 3 years). We had it insured through the same company our homeowner's insurance is through (Liberty Mutual). It is actually a seperate policy because even though jewlery is covered under our Homeowner's it only covers it in the apartment and up to $1500. The policy only cost $71 a year.

This is what I have - it's very cheap (under $100 a year), and I feel much safer. Mine is through State Farm, and I'm very happy with how they work.

Re: Does everyone have their Ering insured?
I didnt have mine insured. If I lost it no amount of $ could replace what it means to me and I would be happy with anything as long as DH picks it out.
I told him to get me a CZ! But he refused. He just had to get the real thing. Im not one for jelwery and I hope I dont lose it and I hope it doesnt break somehow, but insure it? Nah - not me.

Definately do it!! My sister lost hers a longgg time ago and got a new one. YEARS later her DH found it in the gutter of their house!! Turns out that while they were playing water volleyball in the pool one day it must of slipped off her finger and went flying into the gutter!! I cant believe after all those years they found it!!

Absolutely have it insured. It gives me piece of mind to know that god forbid anything happens to my ring it will be replaced.

I do, I think we have Jewlers Mutual (something like that). We got it a week after he propsed-I have a habit of losing and ruining things though. I think I might get insurance on the wedding band too but just haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

Re: Does everyone have their Ering insured?
i would definitely get it insured!!! i was scared to wear it until we had ins. for it!!! its a huge chunk of change to replace it if you god forbid ever lost it! well well worth the $300 or something that we pay per year... we are insured through chubb.. just send them your appraisel, they are great because they cut you a check if it ever needs to be replaced..
