Does everyone have their Ering insured?

Original post by kaklesmay

What do you guys think about insuring your E-ring?

Does everyone REALLY do it?

Does anyone have any experience with having to make a claim?

I highly recommend insuring your e-ring. it doesn't cost that much and it's peace of mind.

ETA: I think the insurance for my e-ring is $170 a year. totally worth it!

Yes, we are insured. And we actually had to make a claim too! My e-ring is actually FH's great-grandmother's, so it's an antique ring from the 1920's. The setting actually began to crack (even though it's platinum) and we had to have the entire ring restored. We actually had to take it to 2 places because the first place was even afraid to touch it. Well, $1500 later ... we submitted the claim and paperwork from Estate Jewels of Huntington and FH got a FULL reimbursement from our insurance company

I have a few items insured through Jeweler's Mutual

I have all my jewelry insured through Jeweler's Mutual. I did have a rider on my homeowners with Liberty Mutual but JM is MUCH cheaper.

my Dad helped me get mine insured thru state farm. it's only $75 a year because we have the house insured thru them and cars.

Pls be very careful when insuring through homeowners it usually wont cover the entire ring unless you specifically talk to them about your ring etc.

My ring is a little of $500 a yr to insure. I insured it through Chubb.

You should def get your ring insured. It all depends on how much your ring was appraised for and that tells you what you pay per year. Mine is through All State and I pay $563 per year.
