mine doesn't he sits on his arnse and watches tv the only thing I ask him to do is take out the garbage and the bills. and when its time for the garbage to be put out i have to say can you please throw the garbage out and he is like oh look i am throwing the garbage out again. and i am like sheesh you helped your mom out growing up you can help me too. MEN!

He does some of the things I HATE, so I don't mind if I do a little more. Plus I am the sloppy one. He cleans the catbox, I clean the whole bathroom, but I hate the catbox. He also does the dishes and the laudry.

Nope, I pretty much do most of it, but he does help me out with the baby on the weekends. He works very hard during the week and I don't, so I can't ask much from him anyways.

After 4 months of living together we finally worked out system and it seems to have been working out well for the past month or so. We call cleaning or cooking for the night (the way you would call shotgun) and that covers the weeknights. Whoever calls cleaning has to do all the straightening up that day and cleaning up after dinner. The cooker has to, well, cook! I usually do the cleaning because I really don't like cooking unless I'm in the mood, and I'm RARELY in the mood to cook.
Then on Saturday mornings we both clean the whole house together. And we trade off who does which rooms each week.
I would never have married a man that I knew wasn't going to help around the house - that was just a big issue for me personally, a deal breaker, even.

the funny thing was when he was living alone in his friends house downstairs which was like his apartment he would clean so i was like good he will be helping out now its like i work hard during the week so i end up doing the cleaning. I love him but he needs to help out more.

We have a deal that says I will take care of the inside, you take care of the outside. It seems to work for us.
OOh the exception is cooking/doing the dishes. You do one or the other not both.

Same here!! I don't even know what the laundromat looks like anymore!! He does most of the stuff around here. He straightens up each day before he leaves for work, makes the bed, feeds the kitties, cleans the litter box, most days he cooks. He has a better schedule than me. I usually do vaccuuming on the weekend and clean more thouroughly on the weekends and I cook on weekends too, if we don't go out!! He is great in the cleaning department!!

Mine does a lot of the cleaning. he vaccuums and takes out the trash. He also cleans the shower because I HATE doing that. he also sweeps b/c i hate that too. he's the best.

DH would help but I always had to ask and tell him exactly what to do and it was so annoying!!! I felt like the nagging mother asking him 10 times to vacuum or having to check how he cleaned something. So I told him we were getting a cleaning lady and so far that has been great! Worth every penny and now we can enjoy our weekends together and I feel like a wife again not a mother.

My husband clean.....thats hysterical. If he doesn't see anything laying around the house it considers it clean....he forgets about scrubbing a bathroom and kitchen and dusting and vacuumining.

Yes, he'll do laundry and takes out the garbage. As for the rest of the house, he's more likely to 'straighten' than clean. He'll pick things up and put them away, but doesn't usually dust, vacuum.

DH will have his 'r u kidding me, I have to help moments'..LOL But he does help out a lot, esp. since I am not allowed to drive. Sundays have turned into laundry and grocery shopping day where he helps tremendously!! He takes out the garbage, pays bills, and keeps the computer and all paperwork organized.

omg Dh is usually like 'OK we are cleaning today ahahha. usually i am the one helping him. we cook together, alternate on dishes. he washes the clothes (i am not too good w/ the whole color seperation thing), i fold them(he kind of rolls his clothes ). whoever notices the garbage is full, takes it out. we do most of it together, its really nice. i am very, very lucky. my fmil 'trained' him well

We really split it up. There are no defined cleaning tasks, we each just clean whatever we feel like cleaning.
There are times when I am reading the paper and DH is vacuuming or cleaning the bathroom and vice versa.
