I am on the hunt for a wedding photographer, and I'm having trouble. There are so many factors that go into this! So, here is my list of things I'm looking for (at least so far) and I would so appreciate it if you guys could tell me if the photographers that you have looked at / booked do these things (and also if they don't do them, so I don't waste time on them) . I have such limited time that FH and I are both available to go meet with people that I don't want to waste it on people who don't fill my criteria. Thanks in advance!
My list: 1. really captures a sense of personality and life in even the most posed of photographs 2. has an artistic eye and catches beautiful, unique shots. 3. when you go to meet with them, you meet an actual photographer and can sense if you click with them, and you have a specific photographer whose name is on the contract assigned to do your wedding (and you are able to specifically see samples of the work of the person who will be at your wedding) 4. stays throughout the whole day rather than arriving just in time for things to start and leaving as soon as the cake is cut. 5. works with what you want and is inobtrusive, rather than bossing you around when taking posed photos or interupting things or getting in the way. (I realize you won't know this until the day of your wedding, this is really more for those who are already married) 6. either gives you the negatives or gives you all of your pictures on a cd (or at least doesn't charge through the nose for reprints)

lol i did a search for the other LIW bride on here and i was able to find her review of Jimmy and Fine art... WITH PICS!! so you can see the kind of work he does (natural, different, personal pics). good luck again!!
Check out Franklin Square Photography - we loved them.

you can check my review for more info and pics. he is AMAZING!!!!!! and even now after the wedding, he has been GREAT to work with (album, enlargements, etc)

I feel your pain - I met with 12 photographers before booking
Her pics are amazing! You have to pay extra for the digital proofs, but IMO it is worth it.
I second the Natasha recommendation and I also had those requirements . There are many individual photographers out there, so if it is important for you to meet just with the person who will be shooting your wedding, you can always just look at individuals instead of studios.
I don't think Something in Blue or Verdi give you the negatives, but I do love their work.

I am using Artistic Images and I have to say that he meets ALL of your requirements. When we met with him for the first time it was liking meeting up with an old friend. I think he is great, very reasonably priced as well.

we are using proline studios and so far its yes to all of those - we got to meet our photographer before signing the contract seeing his work and think hes phenomenal!!! and we have it written in our contract that we will get a high res (must be high res to get quality photos - be specific!) cd of all the photos!!

Were using Richie from Marco photography in Bohemia.. He's great - know of 3 weddings they done all Pics came out perfect- they didnt look 'Set up' either. FM me if you want additional Info- thats the one thing about my wedding I am not stressed out about- I trust them

Leli Photography - - Gary Leli. (He's a vendor on here).
He's been great so far, and he took some nice shots for our engagement/trial session.
As far as, the negatives . . . he's give a CD (your negatives), as well as your actual proofs.
I felt the most comfortable with him.

Have you checked out North Island Photography. Another husband and wife team, so 2 photographers for the entire day, the engagements shots are included so everyone can get used to each other before the wedding date, and the pictures are absolutely gorgeous.

I interviewed Hal from Full View Photography last night, on a recommendation from my friend who used him this summer. I haven't booked him yet, (am planning to) but he definitly has everything on your list! I loved him b/c he has a passion for his work, a wonderful personality, wants to get to know you before he does anything, and has a very relaxed and candid style. Even his formal posed shots look great. Here's his website:
