The last time I had a bigger breed dog I was just little, and I'm wondering if you could help me. I have a 65 lbs terrier mix. Friday night she had a warm nose, and vomited. It was an all night thing. Twice she vomited up her food and what not, and then twice it was grass and leaves. Ever since then, she has been ocassionally 'wretching'. I don't know how else to describe it. If she lays on the bed, I hear her tags moving, and I look down and her thoat looks like she is going to barf, but nothing happens. Any clue as to why she is doing this? I thought at first she might have something stuck in her throat, but she has been eating fine, and everything is 'coming out' ok. I'm worried....should I be?

Re: Dog owners...
Take her to the vet. It could be something mild and all you would have to pay is the office fee. At least you have the peace of mind.

Yeah. I'm gonna see how she is when I get home, and we'll take it from there....

hmmmm take your doggie to the vet to rule out anything major. Let him eat grass, they usually do when they have an upset stomach alternatively, give your doggie plain white rice, that calms my dog down

Jen, my vet is in Northport, not sure if they take payment plans. They take credit cards though - not sure if this helps. It's North Shore Veterinary Hospital. Dr Berger is good and so is Dr. Russell Fredricks - there are two Dr. Fredricks (i think the other is older and doesn't practice much, but I still ask for Russell).
Thanks Jen. I'll keep them in mind. I'm gonna try calling Commack today, and see if I can get her in over the next day or so....
I just took my Kittie to the Smithtown Village Animal Hospital and they were great. My cat was having similar symptoms to your dog and they mentioned they've had a lot of animals in for those symptoms lately. I know they take credit cards since that is how we paid. So, in case there is no luck with Commack, try to give them a call.

Thanks! Did they say what it was with your kitty?

Upset stomach from eating too fast. They gave him a shot to to make his stomach calm down. I can't feed him until tomorrow morning and since I have two, that means no food for my older baby. Eh, he's fat anyway!
