oh the poor baby!! hopefully the vet will know what's the matter. maybe it is just the heat. i know i get that way and animals do too especially when it came up on us so fast. to the baby

Again, thank you everyone, but there's no change.

He's not eating or drinking anything - just sleeping.

We're awaiting the results of blood work today.

***UPDATE***

The vet just called back - his blood levels are all 'off' -

His pancreas is malfunctioning, and they don't know why yet.

They want to us to bring him in and they'll keep him overnight, hooked up to an IV to replenish all of the nutrients that he hasn't gotten in the past 2 days.

She said Cancer- and that scares me so much.

I know it sounds silly, but I really love this dog like a person. He's only 7 1/2 years old, and I'm not ready to give him up just yet. He is SUCH a person.

Oh goodness Nicole I am SO sorry

Hopefully the vet will be able to figure out what is goign on and can treat him accordingly... I know how hard this is, I am keeping your little guy in my prayers!

Thanks so much guys - I'm here, all alone with this little guy....

I can't reach my parents, I'm supposed to leave for school in 20 minutes, but I'm terrfied to leave him alone.

What if something happens when he's here alone? I'll never forgive myself for leaving him alone.

I feel so pathetic - I'm sitting here, sobbing like a little kid, and THERE'S NO ONE AROUND

The vet just called AGAIN. She wants me to bring him in ASAP, not wait for my parents.

She said that they close the office at 6pm, so if I can get him there now, they'll have a solid 5 hrs for observation while receiving the IV antibiotics and fluids, but he'll still be unattended from 6pm tonight until 9am tomorrow.

Is that safe? Has anyone left their pet, with a needle in his body, unattended for 15 hours?!?!

I don't know what to do, I wish one of my parents would call back. I don't want to make the 'wrong' decision, and have to hear it from them later, when I'm already feeling lousy enough

Just got my mother: she's leaving, and she'll be home in a half hour to take him.

Thanks for everything - now I have to get myself to concentrate on African-American Lit for 3.5 hours.

I'll be back later if there's any news.

I'm sure its pretty common that he'd be left alone overnight with the IV hooked up (though I dont know firsthand) so TRY not to worry about it, trust the vet on that one - he'll be in good hands and have had time to be observed before he's left alone !

Can you take him to an emergency pet hospital? Something like that happened to my cat so we rushed her to the hospital at 11pm and they kept her overnight, on watch, for two days, with an IV. The emergency pet hospitals usually are staffed 24 hours a day so you're doggy will have someone with him the whole time, and you can visit during visiting hours.
