Dog/Puppies questions - feeding and fleas??

Original post by starhead

We have 8 mo. old husky, Maya. She has become the finickiest eater ever!!! She will only eat once a day, we used to feed her twice.

So my question is, at what age is it okay to only feed her once a day? I also heard that huskies should not have puppy food too much b/c of something that's in it.

Also, has anyone put Frontline on their dogs yet as the weather has warmed up a bit???

Aw, such cute dogs.

I think I'm a crazy dog mom. I'm thinking about baking my dog some biscuits with a recipe I found on a dog site. I think the recipe makes a lot that lasts over a few weeks, so I'd save money buying biscuits!

Just be careful about the nutritional content of the biscuits....some TINY biscuits could be equated with a person eating 3 Snicker Bars...

We use Eukaneuba restricted calorie biscuits...and our dogs LOVE THEM!

We alternate b/w the good science diet puppy ones and little milk bones.

we usually would feed our dogs once a day in the morning but always have dog food out for them all day...if they are hungry they are going to eat, but if not, they won't. kind of like kids.

Thanks!! She's a little over 40 lbs now but she's still so cute. She's a little terror though, and such a daddy's girl!!
I was getting ready this morning and she was snuggled up next to DH in bed the way I do!!

Re: Dog/Puppies questions - feeding and fleas??

I give Bud Old Mother Hubbard treats right now. He usually doesn't get more than 3 a day.

I just wanted to share what Bud did yesterday that I thought was so funny. On Tuesday, he chewed through the couch cushion. So I was worried about him making it worse and wanted to get him new toys first before I let him stay in apartment alone without us watching him, so I put him in his cage that he used to stay in when he was a puppy. Well, when FI came home, he heard Bud running on the other side of the door and when he came in, saw that Bud was in his cage, except the door was open. He got it open and was probably laying on couch, but he was trying to fool FI as if he was in there the whole time. He can be so smart sometimes.
