Has anyone been to the Dominican Republic? If so, where did you stay? DH and I are planning a trip possibly for January and we are looking at all-inclusives. We save that there are a couple of RIU hotels all next to one another and you can use the amenities at all of them so that looks pretty cool, but we weren't sure if it was good or not. Any advice or feedback? Thanks!

I was at the Occidental Punt aCana last summer and can tell u they did have a swim up bar.
I am a lil biased (being Dominican) because we have a time share there but it was the best fun I have ever had in the Dominican Republic. We spent most of the week right on the resort because it was an all inclusive deal and did 2 tours. I highly recommend going horse back riding. Please, only bring what you are willing to spend on these tours b/c you will find many things to spend ur money on. Good luck on your choices!!!

oh yeah..I forgot to add...u may already know this. If ur going to any resort avoid the guys trying to give you a tour of the resort. They will try to sell you a membership. That's how we got roped in (LOL)..It was a good investment for us b/c we plan on vacationing every yr. They can be very convincing.

there are two paradisius in punta cana. the one called punta cana is more family oriented. we stayed at the palma real which is more for couples. we had an amazing time and i would highly recommend it for a HM.
