Don424, OctGroom, Boosh78201 and all the Mets fans...

Hey all .. I'm back. I knew that Don wouldn't waste much time posting about our bet and starting a thread about it And rightfully so , of course. You are the clear and undisputed winner, and shall be congratulated by me, as the loser...as much as it pains me

First of all congrats to the Mets fans this weekend...in particular my FH, Don and OctGroom. Your boys played well and deserved to sweep. The 'bragging rights' are yours....... at least for now. Enjoy it! I know us Yankee fans have enjoyed bragging rights ALL of the other times we've faced one another, (wink , wink) .. and so finally you've gotten your turn to experience what that feels like. You were the better team .. well ok, at least THIS weekend you were the better team!

Since I am a lady of my word, I am here to fulfill my terms of our bet. I have posted my a pic of myself in Mets garb in my avatar, along with Lets Go Mets as my chat title. FH took the picture and was thrilled to have me wear his Mets garb (hope he enjoyed it ... . This pic and chat title will remain up until a week from today, July 12.

Just a disclaimer: please excuse the 'green' Mets hat I am wearing (FH said to mention it was from 'Irish' night at Shea a few years ago...) With less than 3 weeks until our wedding, our apartment is filled to the brim with wedding stuff, and he could not find his regular Mets cap anywhere.. so I had to 'make due' with the green cap. As a rule (and to keep our relationship healthy) , we typically do NOT wear our respective Yankee and Mets garb around one another ... so most of our stuff is not readily available. That said, at least it has the METS logo on it!

Well that's about all, folks. I've fulfilled my terms of the 'loss' and will just have to 'grin and bear it' for a week on these boards. Enjoy your win, Mets fans... You won't hear much 'debating' or 'trash talking' out of me (really, what for?) but feel free to fire away the insults directed my way .. I can take it!!

I accept this temporary defeat graciously and quietly, and with the CLASS that beholds most of the diehard Yankee fans on these boards.

Just wait until next time .........

Thanks .. BELIEVE me that this is probably the hardest thing I've had to do, post myself attired in METS garb on a website after we were swept by them (I never thought I'd ever utter the words 'Yankee were swept by the Mets' in my lifetime. ugh)... My gut was wretching ever since Friday when the Mets creamed us, and continued to score high and beat us all weekend long..

So while I might SOUND gracious in my defeat, those sentiments didn't actually kick in until WELL after I yelled and screamed and cursed a lot all weekend long

Felecia -- I give you credit you most certainly were a worthy adversary. And believe me, this is one bet I never expected to win with Ginter, Saeo and Trachsel -- and to give the Yankees credit, Saturday and Sunday were two of the greatest games I ever saw and that never would have happened if it weren't for both teams.

As for October, who knows -- we will not win the World Series for sure, we may make the playoffs and then it's anyone's guess, but I'm not sizing us up for a ring anytime soon.

It's just so great that for at least a little while, the Mets are the better New York team!

Lately? No.

ok cool -- last week, i only did the trash talk thing in retalitation

you won't hear anymore from me -- now we have the entire NL east to contend with, over the next 19 games, we have the phils, marlins and braves -- and were not off to a great start after last night

Right on, Rachel!! As much as I hate to say it (after all, I'm not quite as diplomatic as you are when it comes to my feeling towards the Mets.. LOL) the METS really should be proud of themselves these days. They are far exceeding any expectations placed upon them when this season first commenced.

As for us, well Hell at least the Yankees beat managed to beat the Tigers last night... Thank Gawd! I'm not sure what I would have done if they lost AGAIN

I don't know, I just don't really care whether or not the Mets win or lose. I just want the Yankees to win. I bare no ill will towards the Mets, because I just don't really care. I don't understand why the Mets fans care about the Yankees winning, except when the two teams actually play. And the lengths they take it to (not just Mets fans, but fans of all other teams) with the complaining about the Yankees bankroll, which I still think is a BS excuse. Other teams have just as much money as the Yanks (INCLUDING the Mets), they just don't know how to spend it. And the Yankees had just as much now as they did in the 80's, and Steinbrenner was the owner in the 80's, and the Yanks sucked. We just got smarter, and we're hitting a good stride. Don't worry, in 5 years we'll still have all the money and Steinbrenner and we'll be losing again. And every fan of every other team will STILL be complaining about the Yankees. JUST like the 80's.

Now Boston, that's a different story, but that's because they're jerks. I really feel like Alcohol ought to be banned at Red Sox/Yankee games, just for the sake of public safety.

The funny thing is that I've always prided myself on being a Yankee fan because we had class, or at least all the Yankee fans I know do. I come on here and I hear nothing but complaining about the Yankees all the time.

Thank Goodness for Felicia because she rules.
