Donation favors...

What do you think of?

My grandfather passed 3 years ago from Lung Cancer - and I think it's a really nice touch - although I've heard different things from others...

I am doing the American Diabetes Association in honor of my father. They actually print up either a bookmark, table tent or scroll for every guest!

It's a great tribute...go for it!

I think it's wonderful and an incredibly selfless act a couple can do during a time that is so per say 'our day'! We are doing this for St. Judes cancer research center for children, and they give you bookmarks or scrolls for all your guests that has your name date and lovely saying that you did it in your guests honor, sooooo it's like you are doing something great and giving favors.... How can it be wrong?

I love the idea...for those who may think it's 'cheap' (as I heard someoe say once)they are selfish, ignorant, spineless human beings. ARHHHH it makes me so mad!

I agree... and we are giving what we would have paid for favors... so hardly not cheap, that was ignorant of that person....

My FMIL told me she things its kinda weird cause the guests are 'CHOOSING' to donate...and most ppl want gifts

I was so mad, but kept my composure - I told her I usually throw out the favors they give - that's not why you go to a wedding, for a gift...ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Do you know someone with this? is it bad? I was diagnosed with lymes disease when I was eight years old... had the ol' bullseye on my leg... took medication for awhile doc said I may have problems later in life... I'm reaching 'later' in life...lol only thing ive experienced so far is bouts with exhaustion.... was just curious what you've learned, as i havent learned much...

My father passed from heart disease, you just encouraged me to donate to both as well!! actually FH dad is amputy from childhood cancer, my dad heart disease, and FH grandma and his mom suffer badly from diabetes, hell maybe ill do 3!!

I am doing the same thing....i was torn between St. Judes and Ronald McDonald House...maybe ill do both. i think it such a great idea. and its not being cheap. i here people say the same thing. i would be donating the same amount of money that i would be spending on favors..if not more!!!

no i dont think that its 'cheap' - however, i donate a lot of money to charity throughout the year - i want my favors to express thanks to my guests s its just not the time or place for me to advertise a donation - JMO - NHF
