Donation to charity instead of a favor

does anyone know if you're even supposed to let the guests know that you did that? I mean, is that tacky... or is it something you think they will want to know about?

does anyone have photos of how you display something like that?

It depends on who you are donating to. I know St. Judes Children's Hospital and the America Cancer Society give you cards to distribute. I don't think it's tacky at all. We want to highten awareness to the charity we are donating to.

We are donating to the National Parkinsons Foundation in memory of my grandma...They supply you with cards stating that you donated in memory..We are giving the cards out to each couple along with a silk made rose that I am doing...

I want everyone to know what we did & considering most of my guests are family knew how close I was with my nana, they would not expect anything less

I think donating $$ to charity is a really honorbale thing, but I'm still not used to the charty donation as wedding favors. I don't think I would do it unless it was in ADDITION to another favor. I think I kind of feel like fi you want to make a donation to charity in conjunction with your wedding, that's great, go ahead and do it, but I don't really see what it has to do with wedding favors. People like to have something to take home with them

I've seen a nicely printed framed announcement presented at the table where the placecards are informing the guests that in lieu of favors a donation has been made..

I also think that it's not necessary to display it. A donation should be because you feel you want to support a cause, not because you want everyone to know how generous you are or what you believe in.

We're going to put it in our program I think. Not sure about the wording as of yet.

I'm getting little note cards made up and attaching them to a small favor- maybe a box of chocolate (like a 2 peice box)
