Well I haven't been around much the last few weeks. Figured i'd share, even though this is hard for me.
A few weeks ago my mother called and 'warned' me that my grandmother wasn't doing too well and she wanted me to go to the nursing home.
Last week the whole family was rushed in because they were worried and she had gotten worse.
Well today she passed away. She was 93 and would have ben 94 a few days before my wedding. She'd been in the nursing home due to Alzheimers the last 10 years and I watched her slip further and further away.
Her funeral is on Wed and we'll be sitting shivah until Sunday. My shower unfortunately is on Sat and I really don't want to celebrate. I know she wouldn't want it that way but I feel so wrong.I know I'll be surrounded by familly and friends but it hurts.

I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Although it's hard try to enjoy your shower. Your Grandmother would have wanted only the best for you and much happiness on that day. I'm sure you will find comfort in many happy memories of her

so sorry for your loss....I lost my grandfather in April and it was extremely difficult....he was 94. It is a difficult time, but try to find the lighter moments, especially being with family and friends. your grandmother would want it that way

I am so sorry. I lost my Nana 10 years ago and completely understand the pain you must be feeling. Do whatever makes you happy and realize she is in a better place watching over you like a wedding angel. And please know that you can do a special tribute to her in your wedding so she will be with you on the day. I am so sorry for you and your family. Stay strong and take care of yourself.

I am so sorry about your loss. I lost my grammy less then a year ago and it was very very hard for me. It still is at times but the way I try to look at it is at least she got to see me happy, engaged and planning our wedding, athough I know it wont be exactly the same because she wont be there. Your grandmother would want you to have your shower and to be happy. Again I am so sorry to hear about this and if you need anything FM me.
