dont know what to do

somone posted on here that you can not use any amplified music during the outside cocktail hour at WCC... so i just called and they confirmed it...

they never told me this, but apparently its in my contract.. wouldnt you think that is something they should tell you upfront???

what am i supposed to do... my dad is really mad and wants to go there and tell them they need to supply us with music then


so now what am i going to do? hire a violinst or something to play during that time.. and its only 1 hour.. prob going to cost a lot. arrgggg

THE CONTRACT SAYS: No amplified music and under that it says... NO MUSIC FOR HOUTSIDE COCKTAIL HOUR.. WHAT>??? the woman on the phone said she has seen people bring in guitarists or violinists? now im confused

i think ive seen prices people posted on here for a couple hundred dollars...you also can hire a musician who is in school, try craigslist. Some will do it for very little or free

oh man.. but that is a good idea.. maybe someone in school.. hmm. i guess ill have to look into it..

I was actually going to suggest the same thing. Call come colleges or musical conservatories they may be able to help you get someone (most likely a student) for a reasonable price.

my sister got a harp player ( harpist?) and it was BEAUTIFUL! and very different

Try Bravura if you are looking for steel drums or anything like that....I heard they're prices are pretty reasonable, however I haven't checked them out yet so don't hold me to that

My FSIL used Bravura for her wedding and cocktail hour...they were awesome!!!

It means that she cant have any amplified music, meaning no speakers that would make the music louder.
A lot of places with that rule will let you use a small portable cd player, but you cant really hear it so it's a waste.

You can have live music, as long as they do not amplify it... so you can't have an electric guitar player or anything like that.
If you have a keyboardist, the music has to come from the keyboard, it can't be routed through Amplifiers....

So any music has to be acoustic.

maybe it's saying they don't provide it for you?? Call your BM and ask him to clarify it for you.

Actually you can get the steel drum band through WCC> I was originally booked with them and they were going to set up the steel drum band and decorate with a carribean theme with beds laid out and the outside bar is decorated with a carribean feel. I don't know who your BM is but I dealt with Andrew and he was great had such wonderful ideas. Maybe you could speak with him.

Harpists can be quite pricey because its harder for them to travel with such a large fragile instrument...
