Anyone go? what did you think of it? I was expecting more vendors but...I enjoyed talking to a few..I am still on the fence whether I should go w/ them.

Re: Douglaston Manor Showcase 1/27
I was a little disappointed w/the amount of vendors-i thought there would have been more. I only really talked with the DJ's from In the Mix-but they told me they're going to tonights show at the Swan Club so technically i could have talked to them tonight! But at least i had some one on one time (i'm sure tonight will be crazy).
I did LOVE the Douglaston Manor-that was one plus to it not being so crowded with a lot of people and filled with Vendors; i thought the Grand Room was beautiful! I even got to look in the Bridal Suites and got to look out at the room from their Romeo & Juliet balcony.
The Food was yummy! I loved the salad-i know it sounds crazy-maybe i was just hungry; but the salad was good; loved the fresh mozzerella; All the other food i got was good too-the Sea Bass; some sort of CHicken; Beef Filet; the ham was a little salty; the fried calamari was good; and so was the coconut shrimp. In all-the food made the showcase worth the $10.

yes! i thought the vendors were not as plentiful as I had hoped. I picked up a lot of brochures and talked to the honeymoon lady. I didnt see that anyone was eating the food though! I only had drinks at the bar but I guess I didn't stick around long enough to eat! I was there really early and no one had taken any food!

The didn't start serving the food until after 8pm. I'm surpised they didn't say anything.
Once 8pm hit people starting eating-the desert was yummy too. There was a canoli; a strawberry moose (i think that's what it was called) and a chocolate. I don't eat chocolate so i didn't taste that one; but the one with the strawberries was really good.

I was at the showcase as well! I thought it was pretty nice. There weren't that many vendors as a few of you have mentioned but I didn't really care because I wanted to taste the food. I thought it was good! I also really liked the cocktail area.
The grand ballroom is beautiful but i'm still a little thrown off by the shape of it and the size. I feel like the dance floor would be a little cramped...i'm not sure. The bridal suite that goes with the grand ballroom is really nice though-.
All in all it's a beautiful place and the food was tasty!

I went to the showcase with my FI. We booked there. We had looked at several other places but we really love the grand ballroom, the Romeo and Juliet balcony and the view. Additionally, it's convenience for both of our families and the church we want to be married at. If it is a matter of price attempt to negotiate with the BM. It can help.
