Dr. apt's

Ok so on Wed Ill be 16 weeks and I will be going for my third DR. visit....

My 1st visit we did a sonogram in which I saw the baby and his/her heart beat and they determined how far along I was...

My 2nd we heard the heartbeat with a doppler and discussed AFP testing...
I asked when we could find out the sex and he told me my next sonogram which is my level ll scheduled for sometime during the 1st week in June...

Here are my questions....??

I feel like every visit has been so simple...should there have been more...??? Also I have 2 friends who got preg. after me, and they have had 2 sonograms already.... I wanna see my baby...esp now that it looks like a baby...

What is going to go on during my next visit..??? Do you think if I ask he would do an extra sonogram b4 my level ll ( i really wanna try and find the sex a little early.... I know it can be done... a friend of mine found out the sex of both children at 16 weeks)

I really like my DR. but have nothing to compare him to.... fill me in girls..!!!

My appointments haven't been too exciting so far either and from what I understand most of them really aren't.

My 16 week was a doppler check, felt for my uterus and we talked about things, etc.

Of course you always get to pee in a cup and get weighed.

I don't know what to say, because I often feel the same way with my Doctor. His office is a little out of the way from our home and I always leave thinking 'that's it?' The last 3 times, all they did was weigh me, take my blood pressure, check my urine, listen to the heartbeat (which I do every day anyway, because I rented my own doppler), and the doc asks how I've been feeling. I haven't seen my baby since my level II, back in January and it bothers me, because I would love to see how much he's developed since then. I guess we were spoiled, because we got sonos for the first 3 visits and I thought it was going to be a routine thing. I always feel like there should be more done. Aside from sitting in the waiting room, we're in the office with the doctor for 5, 10 minutes tops.

ETA: I'm 28 weeks.

Unfortunately, most appointments after the first initial visit are pretty short, unless you have complications or a lot of questions. Just wait until you have to go weekly!

Sonograms aren't typically done, other than the Level 2, unless there are problems and the first one if there is a large question in size for the EDD. FOr that reason, I doubt you will have one before your scheduled one.

I also rent the doppler... so I guess this is why Im wondering.... I hate sitting there forever just to do exactly what I do at home...

A couple of girls at work were like just lie and say you dont feel right..you'll get a sono right away...but I cant lie, I'd feel like im jinxing myself....

so we are thinking the begging and pleading wont work next week...???
He is so the kinda DR that just wants to keep you quiet (like ok ok just stop asking me already) but then again my level ll is my next visit.... THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!!

My dreams haunt me at night..sometimes I dream boy other girl...then I even dream of renting a sono machine they way we rent dopplers.... I know I know Im crazy!!!!
