For those of you who have bought your dress or are planning on buying it soon are you planning on buying your accessories now as well, or waiting closer to the wedding, like veil, headpiece (if you're wearing one) shoes, jewlery??

Re: dress acessories?
hey!! i think you could get your veil as soon as you know what your dress looks like. I purchased my veil about a week after i ordered my dress...so that they would match. I'm going to wait on other accessories until the dress comes in and i can try it all on together. I think once the veil comes in then i'll figuure out a headpiece. HTH

I plan on waiting a bit. I know I got my dress really early, so I figure I have a bit of time for the rest. That being said, if you find something you love, I'd get it.

I haven't gotten my dress yet...but I plan on going dress shopping soon. However, I will probably wait a while before I order my veil and other accessories. I plan on getting my veil at Barrons, and I know they dye the veil to match your gown....so I will probably wait until my dress comes in so that I can bring a swatch of my dress for them to match the veil to.

Re: dress acessories?
My veil and shoes matched my dress perfectly. I didn't want to wait and maybe have them be discontinued. I tried everything on together and it was just perfect.

I haven't gotten my dress yet but I know I don't want to spend a whole lot of $$ on a veil so I am going to start searching on like Ebay or something after I purchase the dress for a veil to try on for my first fitting.
DOJ I may wait a while.
Shoes - I think I am going to need them when I order my dress so they can get the length correct no?

You don't need the exact shoes..if you know what size heel you want you can bring any pair with you or the store will probably have some

you don't need your shoes when you order the dress - you need them when you do your fitting.
(which could be months after you order the dress) In my case I am not doing the fitting until much closer to the date, but I fell in love with the shoes because they matched so well (and they're flat!) so I bought them anyway.

Re: dress acessories?
i ordered the veil & tiara when I ordered my dress because my consultant did a great job matching them so why not order it all at the same time :) & I recently bought my DOJ because I love it so much & know it has been around awhile so incase it was randomly discontinued I wanted it NOW!!! haha

In some cases you do need them when odering. I did because it was a hallow to hem measurment which means it cannot be hemmed after not to loose the embellishment on the bottom. So in most cases its not necessary but in mine it was. Take a look at my dress in my album & you'll see why.

Yeah the dress the is 'in the running' right now, I was told it was a hollow to hem as well and that's why if I decide to go for that dress I need to have my shoes for the measurements.

You'll need shoes to order a dress 'hollow to hem'. They don't necessarily have to be the exact shoes, but they have to be the exact height you want to wear. I wore a pair of heels I already had and just ordered a pair that are the same height that I used for measurement. HTH!

My dress had almost the same bottom as you with the organza overlay. At the bridal shop they told me I would have to get the shoes before hand so they can hollow to hem. My dress actually didn't need any adjustments it was the perfect length. Although the bridal woman helping me thought it needed to be taken up a quarter inch (I mean, really?) -
I said no way it's perfect- she said since it was only a tiny amount that needed to be hemmed it would be okay if (after I ordered it) I changed my mind, and it wouldn't affect anything.
I think it depends on how much you need hemmed. If you need to hem it a lot definitely get the shoes.
