ughh i thought the same i had a $2500 budget for dress veil alterations and accessories....well i blew that and then some on my dress alone :( not to mention all my add ons, dress, veil, headband, fur wrap and shoes... I wound up spending 5k....my parents are paying for it and blew their budget they gave me because they liked everything and picked out pretty much everything, even knowing the price....they are awesome!! :) its definitely a lot but so worth it!! esp when you find the one you never felt more beautiful and i purchased my dress 24 months before! :)couldn't be happier!

I already bought my dress or should i say dresses as i purchased 3. I decided to buy a preowned gown as i cant fathom spending so much money on a dress i wont wear again. I speant $400 on the 3 dress (2 gowns and 1 cocktail dress), two crystal headbands, and a birdcage headband. The dresses seemed to be made for me as they dont seem to need alterations; depending on my choice of shoes will determine if i need to have the gown i have chosen shortened.

I'd like to spend no more than $1000. I also want a short dress (like tea length) ... so I'm sure thats doable. My MOH and I are going to DB to look tomorrow and try on!!! I'm so excited :) :)

I am not sure if this place was mentioned, but I think everyone should check RK Bridal in midtown, NYC. Its a place thats is a bit hectic but they have all the dresses and designers that you are looking at a very affordable price. But be warn, this is nothing like a Kleinfeld experience.

Re: dress budget
Mine was $2,000. Luckily, I am in LOVE with Maggie and all of the Maggie's are between 800 and $1800. I wound up going with the 'Suzanne'.... which, after alterations, taxes, etc... was only $1700 =)

I would suggest Bridal Suite of Bay Shore or Bridal Suite of Centereach. They are amazing and had such a variety of dresses/prices

Re: dress budget
The budget I've set for my dress is $1000. I've been eyeing Mori Lee's entire line! Her dresses are so gorgeous and surprisingly affordable. If you ask my Grandma (who is paying for a lot),I'll be shopping at David's Bridal. Mori Lee isn't sold there, though, so I'll have to do some convincing. I'm thinking of RK Bridal.
