Dress Cleaning/Preservation
Happy New Year girls!!I want to get my dress cleaned and preserved but would rather not bring it to my regular dry cleaner because while they're fine for sweaters I'm not sure how good they'd be with my dress. My dress is silk, relatively poofy and has tons of crystals on the bodice.
Any recommendations?

I don't have any recommendations (I told my mom this is what I wanted for Christmas so she is doing all the research) but my dry cleaner told me they send it out somewhere that specifically does gown preservation so I'm guessing that's what most cleaners do.

Re: Dress Cleaning/Preservation
I am in the process of using the alfred angelo preservation process, mostly because I kept getting emails for a $129 offer. Total i think it probably came out to $150. I did it online, they mail you everything you need to pack up and ship the dress, along with easy to follow step by step directions. They email you when they receive your dress and they email you when it is finished and they are sending it back to you all preserved and ready to go. Communication is very good. From start to finish the whole process has taken a month and a half. I received the email that they have shipped my preserved dress and it should arrive in 2 days! Will follow up to let you know how the finished product came out but so far it has been relatively hassle free!

I used Davids Bridal. I got a deal for $99 and they did a great job. Seems similar to Alfred Angelo above in their process. I got it back and I have no complaints : )

I still need to do this. My dress is in the bag sitting in the same spot since the day after the wedding. The store I got mine from ships them out to be preserved.

I did mine myself but my sister used Railroad Cleaners in Oceanside NY (on Lawson Blvd). I think it was in the range of $125-$150, she was very happy.
