OK...so this is VERY rough...but here is an idea of the custom dress I was thinking of...what do you think?

The lace at the bottom would be from my mom's dress and the top would be plain. The toile would gather at an asymmetrical waist...

the dress will be Ivory and the toile will be ivory and blue...for some reason I can't seem to post the back

I am not a huge fan of toile, but I really like how it's gathered over the dress.

I think it is so sweet for you to incorporate your mothers dress into your own. Is the overlay another color? I can't quite tell from the pic. Looks white with blue?

I love the idea of using your Mom's lace!! But, I don't really like the toile (the pattern or the color). The style of the dress is very pretty.
