dress dilema

I ordered my dress back in january b/c we were originally going to get married this october but then changed it..well the dress came in and i tried it on...there was some few minor problems..like loose beading and a few little tears in the lace that i wanted to fix..they said it would be done in april..well i go in april and it still wasn't fixed so i refused to take it home...now they call me saying its ready and i have to take it b/c they have no room to store it. Now if i go in today and it's still not fixed what should i do? Should i ask them to order me a new gown? Should i ask for a discount on the dress b/c its damaged than get it fixed elsewhere ( i already paid for it on a credit card through the store)? Could i get store credit? I just want to know what my options can be if it's still not right. Thanks!!

the store is davids bridal and i won't trade it for another gown b/c i LOVE my dress-i just want it to be perfect for my day.

Is there any lingo on the order form about the condition of the dress upon arrival?

I would simply tell them that since the dress arrived damage they need to either repair the damage or get you a new one or you expect a full refund.

Ps - you're not alone. I've heard terrible things about the conditions of dressed from David's that were ordered.

I would def make sure it looks perfect and demand a new one if it doesn't. I hate hearing bad things about DB. Thank god the dress I ordered has nothing on it. It is just plain. I can't imagine how they could screw that up.

I would not pick it up if it is still damaged. I would insist they fix the areas that are in need of repair. If they refuse then try to negotiate a discount although from what I have heard about David's bridal this is unlikely.

I am usually pretty calm about things and try to go about it in the nicest way, but to me..this is really unacceptable. You were patient enough and were fine with letting them fix it...if it's not fixed tonite, I'd demand to speak to a manager and if they can't do anything for you, call the corporate office while you are still in the store. If they aren't willing to help you now, they DEF won't help you after you take the dress out of the store. With what we pay for wedding gowns they should be nothing less than perfect (actually that goes regardless of the price) ..its yoru wedding dress!

def make sure everything is PERFECT before you walk out. Have them put it in writing. If they give you a hard time, speak to management.
Its your special day so the dress should look great.
In the event it is on a Credit card (visa, MC or amex), you have the option to dispute if quality of gown is not new leaving store.
