dress dilemma!!

ok ladies so i think i have found 'the one' i am so excited but have a few problems. for one the price. it is quite a bit more than all the other dresses i have been looking at and cannot decide if i want to bring myself to spend that much. secondly, there is only one store on the entire island that carries this line. i called the designer itself and they said this was the only one. this was a bridal store that i went to once before and di not care for. i went there again to try on the dress and loved it but again did not like the store or saleswoman. i dont really want to go there but dont know what to do. i love the dress....but with the store and the price i am unsure of what to do. i tried emailing a couple of online places to get the dress but no responses yet. does anyone have an idea of how much cheaper getting the dress online is??? Sorry so long......thanks!

Re: dress dilemma!!

Call a bunch of stores and explain your situation. Maybe one of the stores can order it for you. As for the price....how much do you love the dress. If you love it that much nothing else is going to compare. HTH

yeah i am going to try and call some. the thing is for whatever reason nobody carries it. the dress is made by a line of Jordan who makes BM dresses. Many many stores carry the BM dresses but not the wedding gowns. I am going to call one place i have gone to a few times and see if they will just be able to order it. It figures i find a dress that no one carries.....

Re: dress dilemma!!

I know some people got their from Phyllis from gownfind.com. Maybe you can get it cheaper with her? If it is a lot more expensive, maybe you should think about whether you will feel as beautiful as you should on your wedding day in anything else, if not then I'd get it if you can afford it.

Re: dress dilemma!!

Try Phyliss from gown find, or....call some places in Jersey I suppose. Surely a store carries it there...and if you have a spare weekend...take a little drive...plus no tax

Also..if you buy it online. There are tons of seamstresses that do bridal alterations. Actually...some of the girls on this website probably have a few names and numbers for ya

Re: dress dilemma!!

I have been to two places that I can think of off the top of my head that said they can order ANY dress as long as you know the exact maker and style number. The first is Bridal suite of Bayshore and the other is The Wedding Center in Commack. The Wedding Center also is a discounter, so it should be cheaper here.

I would try to get a quote from net bride.com - or another online vendor - you can take the dress to a taylor for alterations. You can see if any of the bridal salons will let you come in and just pay for the alterations?

Have you tried Estelle's dressy dresses in Farmingdale. I know a buch of girls that found their dresses in magazines and other bridal shops that when there and they were able to order them even though they didn't carry the line.
