Hi ladies, I am going to be ordering my dress next week. I have known which dress I wanted, but was waiting to lose some weight in order to order a dress in a smaller size....of course I didnt lose weight yet lol .... Anyway- I am seeing girls who are getting married in July have dress fittings SO EARLY!!!!! Someone just wrote about having a dress fitting in January for a July wedding?!?! I thought you start your fittings like 2 months before your wedding..... I'm so confused.... how does this normally work??

Dress fittings are usually 5-4 weeks before your wedding day...so dont worry you still have time...i did Weight Watchers and I lost 10 lbs you should give it a try.

I wouldn't worry too much. I'm getting married January 3rd and I'm having my first dress fitting Nov 29th.

its usually 6-8 weeks before and honestly that is what i suggest. You can lose or gain weight in those long months so its better off doing it closer to your wedding. Last fitting should honestly be about 1-2 weeks before and i suggest less than 2 weeks. I had my last fitting 2 weeks before and by the time of the wedding i had lose weight.
Also, if youre talking about the 09 bride, she is not having her fittings yet, i remember other july brides were asking her why she is going so early. She is having muslin made for her dress so thats why but she said she wont start fittings until closer to the wedding.

sorry dress fittings early is a dangerous thing if your weight is always flux. They pushed me to do fittings 2 months before the wedding up to the week of since my I kept dropping. The major thing is they go by what you tell them. I said I lost 24lbs they made the dress extra tight after the first fitting because they thought i would drop more - i leveled out and then they had to let it out because I only dropped 4lbs in three weeks.

usually dress fittings are closer to the wedding beginning like a month and a half before or so. Don't worry you have plenty of time

I lost 15-20 lbs before my wedding. The bulk of it came off the 6 weeks before my wedding, as I went into reality check emergency mode and started seriously dieting and seeing a trainer twice a week. When I ordered my dress, I was between a size 8 and 10 according to the chart. We ordered the 8. It was a corset back, and I went to my first fitting 2.5 weeks before the wedding. The girls at the store knew I was losing weight down to the last minute, and were fine. You really only need 2 fittings if its done right. So, at my fitting -- yay!!!! the dress fit, but only with the corset back completely tied all the way. I wanted it open a little, so it was take in a couple inches on each side, she did the work in one week. When i came back the second time, there were just a couple of changes to make, and it was ready 2 days later and was perfect! Sorry that was so long, just wanted to let you know you don't have to do the fitting sooo far in advance. Most people thought I was nuts waiting until 2.5 weeks before, but I really did lose weight up until the day of my wedding. I also used a small, family-owned boutique, so there was a lot of communication and understanding.

Im totally with you on that one.... 30 day shred is awesome!!!! Eventhough I've done it once LOL! But I felt sore for 2 daysssss!!! hahahahaha
