Dress help :(

Dress help :(

Ok ladies I need some help/advice. I've been searching for a
Wedding gown for over a month already. I'm on the verge of having meltdown because I fear I'll never find 'THE gown' and i wont have 'THE moment' that most people say you should have. Last night I went to bridal reflections for the 2nd time, first time i went i was with my matron of honor and i tried on several gowns...this time I went with my mother and when I got there 2 of my favorite gowns from the last visit were there waiting for me to try on again. I try on one of them again and fell in love... I had completely forgotten about it from my last visit there but when I put it on again it was gorgeous. ( although completely different than the styles I've been trying on) I didnt cry or anything like that but I looked amazing. The consultant told me the 'designer' was Christine Anthony which is exclusive to Bridal reflections. Here is my dilemma I went online and read a review on some random website that 'Christine Anthony ' is not really a designer it's just another name bridal reflections does business as where they design gowns that are replicas of expensive designers. Am I being ridiculous in feeling bothered that it's not a designer and it's the 'store' gown? Does anyone know if this is true or not? My fiancé seems to think it's not a big deal and even if this was true as long as I think it's beautiful the designer tag shouldn't matter. I'm so stressed out that I'm at the point where I think I need a break from dress shopping. I may consider wearing a potato sack on my wedding day :(

Re: Dress help :(

You must ask yourself, why is having a designer dress important? Do you love this dress? If you do then designer or not, you're still gonna love it. I know it feels good to say you have a special designer wedding dress, but at the end of day does it really matter? If you're truely not satisfied, then keep looking, but if the only thing holding you back is the name on the tag, then it's my advice you get the dress you love. But I am the type of person who owns nothing name brand because I feel it's ridiculous to pay for a name when you can get something equally as good or better for a fraction of the price. Bottom line the choice is yours, designer or no designer that is the question. Good Luck!

To me who makes it doesn't matter as long as I love the dress. Go with your gut and if that is the dress then who cares what the label says. No one ever asks who makes your gown. Brides here have only asked where they go shopping.

Thanks, that is exactly whaty fiancé said to me. He said will anyone honestly care? All they care is that I look beautiful in the dress. I think stress is getting te best of me :(

In my eyes I do not care if Donald duck was the 'designer'. All I care about is that I love my dress. But I am also a person who does not care about designers when it comes to every day clothes also

I didn't care one bit who made the dresses I was trying on. I just cared about how they looked and how I felt in them.

Thanks everyone :) i think I needed some reassurance that it's the dress that matters not the TAG on the dress. I feel better talking it out though as silly as that sounds. I'm just so stressed out with this whole dress shopping experience. :(

I definitely don't think the name on the tag matters, but I would look at the inside of the gown anyway. If it is well constructed does matter. They may be using the same manufacturer as other designers (they all contract out) or they may be using a sub-part manufacturer. How are the seams sewn? Does the zipper gap? How is the beading attached? What is the fiber content (usually silk or polyester)? Those are the things to look out for, not the name on the tag. If you are confident with the construction, you may be getting a designer gown at a much lower price! Bargain

The name on the tag didn't matter much to me, what did matter was the price tag.
