Dress Poll - Would you still spend the same? **DRESS UPDATE**

For those of you that are already married and spent $$$ on your dress - having gotten married and spent time in your dream dress, would you have spent the same amount of money having been through your special day?

Was it worth it?

-From a 2009 Bride-to-be

UPDATE!! - So after all the advice, I ended up going to Kleinfeld's to buy my dream dress - with a catch, of course...

My dress was a little out of my budget and quite expensive..SOOO Kleinfeld's was amazing, they worked their magic and was able to sell me the sample at a discounted price.

The sample is in great condition, just needs a little cleaning and typical alterations. On my wedding day, I doubt anyone will even notice that it's a sample and not a new order.

I can't say enough great things about Kleinfeld's - they were great and really took care of me.

And incase you were wondering, I did have a similar 'Plan B' dress ready to be purchased incase Kleinfeld's could'nt work with my budget

I spent under $700 and I loved my dress. I went to David's Bridal and fell in love with it.

I probably would have tried to negotiate more b/c I think I could have gotten probably another $100 off....but other than that, it was worth it My dress was $1150.

My dress is gorgeous, I absolutely love it -- and it was only 900!!!!!

I fell in love with an Eve of Milady dress that was like 6K -- I never went to Kleinfelds because I didn't want to fall in love with a dress in that range. I don't regret that at all, because I truly loved my 900 dress -- Maggie Sottero's Jean. I guess I got lucky!

I want to wear it again, I was joking about wearing it for Halloween, but I don't want to ruin it!

yes- but I only had to spend money on updating my dress because mine was free. But if I hadn't been in that situation, I think I would have set a budget and stuck to it by only trying on dresses within that budget. The dress is important, but there are sooooooooooooooo many beautiful dresses out there that I dont think I would have had to spend a fortune to find 'the one.'

Worth every penny. And my dress was an alteration nightmare and didnt fit tight enough on the wedding day but I still wouldnt change it. Mine was over $1500 + alterations.

However we did bargain with them...and they cut us a deal if we bought it by dec 31, 2008....end of year sale i guess

I dont at all regret what I spent on the dress- about $1000- but my alterations on the other hand I think could have been a lot less- about $400

Ya know I loved my dress but I can't say I would get the same one if I could do it all over again or spend that much money considering I spent a lot and the strap broke and so did the bustle!!

I spent $150 on my dress and no one could believe it! It was severely marked down.

It was worth every penny. I am practical and frugal. I would rather spend more money on a suit that I can wear more than once.
