ok, i know the dress i want and i want to order it this week. my question is i want to lose about 20 lbs. before my wedding. should i order the dress a size smaller? if i dont when they do my alterations, is my dress going to get messed up because they have to take it in????

probably not. It depnds if there is a lot of beading & stuff ont eh dress. 20 lbs is probably about 2 sizes, most dresses can be taken in a few sizes, so you should be ok. Ask the seamstress though. if you order it small, you HAVE to lose teh weight, and in the right places, which you may not have control over.
