Dress Question!!!!

Dress Question!!!!

I contacted a bridal shop and inquired about a discontinued dress. They said that it is possible that I could still order the dress, however, it depends on what the designer has remaining in stock because they won't be making any additional gowns in that style.

I was actually really surprised. I thought that when a dress was discontinued it was impossible to get it, unless if you purchased the sample. But there still seems to be a chance that I could still get it, depending on if the designer has the size/color I want in stock.

Now for my question......

If the designer happens to have the size/color I want, would I get the dress at a discounted price because the dress is discontinued???? If yes, how much of a discount is typical on a discontinued dress (not the store sample, but a gown that is remaining in the designers stock)?

TIA!!!

Re: Dress Question!!!!

probably no discount, my dress was discontinued shortly after i ordered it. designers usually accept orders for the dress for 30 days after its discontinued but not with a discount. i think you only get a discount if you buy off the rack.

my dress was discontinued when i got it. it was like half the price when i ended up buying it (which was amazing). i was told that you can order a dress after it is discontinued up until a certain point (i guess when it is out of stock ). i got my dress at david's though so i don't know if this situation is different elsewhere. hth!

Thanks girls!!! Even if I don't get a discount I am so happy that there is still a small chance I can get the dress. I thought it would be impossible unless I bought the sample or from another bride.

Re: Dress Question!!!!

the discount would only be on the sample...but some shops in deed do this....one dress i liked was being discontinued at the end of august and they said i could still get it after the date, i would just have to pay $100 i beliebe it was extra...

hth xo
