I am sorry to hear this happened to you. I can't imagine what you are going through. I know Davids does off the rack and many of the shops too.

If you don't want to post it would you mind FMing me which store? I am in the process of dress shopping and don't want to give places like this my business!

Thanks for all of the recommendations ladies. I had originally found my dress at Lillette's and wish I had ordered it from there. I got a much better price and went with this other place. I will give them a call if my dress is not in by tomorrow. Something tells me I will never see this dress. I just can't trust what this store says.

I don't want to post the name of this place since they are a vendor on here and this site seems to pull anything negative about their vendors. I will gladly tell you through FM.

i bought my dress at a discount b/c i bought it off the rack, so it might work out for you.

omfg!!!!! i can't imagine what you are going through hun, i'm soo soo sorry! you should get all of your money back...however - if they come through and get you your dress, fight for them to throw in things for free(shoes, veil, headpiece)!! it's the LEAST they can do to compensate for this heartache!! please please let us know what happens!!!

try the wedding salon in manhasset.. they have dresses off the rack(samples) for cheap! saw them there when i was shopping around..

Thanks everyone! You made me feel better. I'm not one to like any kind of confrontation so I am trying to be as nice as possible with this place even though I just get more and more anxious each day. This is a popular vendor on here too. I just don't know why I get so many different answers each month. It just seems so strange.

Thanks everyone! I will be going to Estelles and calling other bridal stores on Friday if my dress is not in by tomorrow as promised. I hope I can get a sample or just buy one off the rack. Has anyone bought a dress at Estelles or David's Bridal off the rack? I'm going to take off of work just to go looking. I hope I don't have to buy another veil and headpiece and all of that. I got my custom made veil at Barrons and it wasn't exactly cheap.

I am so upset right now. I can't even eat. I just keep pacing back and forth and can't sit still. I didn't need this on top of all of the other wedding stress. I just don't understand how this place went from getting rave reviews last year to such terrible ones lately. I received so much FM with similar stories to mine about this place that you don't read about because they would probably pull it from here.

i just got an email from davids bridal that has a new line of dresses and you order them on the internet.. it seems like the delivery dates are really fast.. you should check out their website and see if you like any.. i wish i was more of a help

I am so sorry that you are going though this there are just no words and no justification for what this place has put you though!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have gotten my dress though David's Bridal (and I know that when you say that everyone always says...........Davids???? Ugh) but seriously I have had no problems what so ever with them. They have been wonderful with exchanges for some of my things and also a few bridesmaid dresses (and it is not there fault these people gained weight) but they took the dresses back no questions asked and just ordered new ones. NOT that those things really matter to you............sorry

Anyways, David's has ben wonderful to me from the moment I walked though the door and really the dress are off the rack but they are brand new. I have had no problems with alterations at all and I have my dress hanging in my Mother's house 15 days before my Wedding all ready to go!!!!!

I really hope this helps you and I am again so sorry that this has happened to you and I really hope that the original dress works out !!!!!! I'll be crossing my fingers for you!!!!!!!!!

I actually bought a white gown from a department store, its not even a wedding gown. And it is perfect. There are no wedding gowns that i have seen that I like better. When I put my dress on with my veil, jewelry, and slip, it looks just like a bridal gown, so you may want to try that. And you can also return it if your dress comes in, just leave the tags on!

If you don't mind my asking, can you FM me with the name of the store. I ordered a jacket to wear with my dress and I am wondering if it is the same store. I want to know if I need to watch out!

a girl i worked with (who was also an LIW Bride) had the same problem. She called to schedule her fitting and they never ordered the dress. Apparently they wanted a larger deposit prior to ordering and just happened to forget to tell her. Everything worked out great for her. i hope it does for you too.
