Dress Regret....(long... sorry)
A little back story..This is my 2nd wedding, my FH's first so we are doing the big wedding thing.. I HATED my first wedding gown and didn't want that to happen again this time..This time around I searched in about 10 different stores for dresses.. I'm a plus size bride so it was hard to find things to actually try on.. I think in the end I put on about 40 different dresses.. Everything I liked, my mother or MOH or cousin had something to say about.. I really wanted a ballgown..Everyone else wanted me in an A Line gown. So we arrive at the final store, put on 3 dresses and on the 4th dress I come out and everyone is now crying because they are saying its the perfect dress.. honestly I couldn't get a great idea of it because it was a little small and to me was feeling more like a fit and flare rather than a line but the sales person assured me that it would be an A line when it arrived in my size.. So we said yes to the dress... I kept thinking in my head how I just wasn't sure but thought maybe they were right it would fit better when it came in.. Shockingly..my dress arrived in 2 weeks.. yes.. 2 weeks.. So i went and tried it on with my mom and aunt and I HATED IT... But again my mom and aunt were crying saying how beautiful it was so I kept my mouth shut..
This past saturday I finally said something to my mom about not liking the dress.. She was upset because she knew how much I hated my first dress.. We went out looking again, this time at ball gowns and realized that it's the style I should be wearing..The problem is, the dress I purchased was paid in full.. We are going tomorrow to speak with the bridal salon to see what we can do..
Anyone else have this experience or have dress regret??

I haven't bought my dress yet, but I know there's a ton of websites to re-sell dresses. I know most of them are 'previously worn', but I'm sure you can sell it somewhere.Or, maybe the salon would be willing to try to sell it for you.
You may take a small loss on it, but it's worth it if you are happy with the dress you end up wearing.
Hope this helps!!

You need to go with your gut and get the dress that will make you happy. When dress shopping I was only interested in opinions on how it looked, I didn't care if anyone like the style or not.
I hope the salon will work with you and use the money towards the ball gown style you want.

I had dress regret after I order mine, but after trying it on a few times i realized how perfect it was. Being that your wedding is in December why don't you try it on again alone (don't bring mom or anyone kick the consultant out of the room) and see how YOU truly feel when you're alone in it. Theres gotta be some reason you yes'd it in the first place...If you still have doubts then I'd get a new one you can always try to sell it or something. The money is trivial in the grand scheme if things knock it out of your budget elsewhere.

Hopefully the bridal salon can give you a store credit, but if not you should try to sell it. Go with your gut on the 2nd dress you will know its the dress when you put it on. Good luck!

Go with your gut. I changed my dress at the last minute and I couldn't be happier. :) only down fall you might loose the money you paid for the original dress. I did but my salon is ridiculous and greedy

Thanks everyone. My mother is being so great about it saying that if we lose the money we lose it but as long as I am happy. I found a beautiful ball gown and we are going tomorrow to talk to the bridal salon.
