Dress Shopping

Where should I go????

I'm going for the first time tomorrow. I have an appointment at David's Bridal, but someone told me that shouldn't be the first place I look at. I was thinking Bridal Reflections first, and then David's Bridal.

Anyone else have good places?? I'm on a budget and do not want to spend thousands of dollars.

I think this is going to be the hardest part, but I'm very excited!!!

Any dress shopping tips?

Thanks

Davids has a really big selection of dresses-that's where I got mine. The only advice I can give it to keep an open mind and try on every kind of dress. I never thought I would get a strapless dress, but I fell in love with it once I tried it on.

Lilllette's is a great place to go too. They have dresses in all price ranges.

ITA I found the Massapequa store the most helpful

Try Bridal Suite of Bayshore- broad range of prices, very helpful and accomodating andddd they let you take pictures! Most places don't.

I don't think you should go to a full service salon for your first visit, you will not get a chance to see for yourself what you really like. I went to Bridal Reflections on my 3rd attempt for a dress and I hated it. I showed them tons of pics of style I wanted (mermaid, trumpet) and she continually brought me A-lines.

It's nice if you can go to a place where you can see whats on the racks- but also definitelllyyyyy listen when they suggest dresses for you! the dresses look very different on a hanger vs. on your body! I was pretty suprised with what I liked and didn't liked once it was on me.

I'm planning on going to RK on Tuesday, I heard good things about them so far.

good luck!

p.s. being able to take photos is a plus! dresses i thought could be the one turned out being not so great once i saw the way they photographed or the way i looked it in a photo... if the place doesnt let you take photos, try to sneak in as many as possible! my sister kept sneaking in photos with her camera at the places that didnt allow!

I've heard really good things about Lilettes, and I want to Paradise Bridal and there was def a nice selection of dresses in the under $1,000 range.
