Dress shopping experience

Original post by stefaniec84

Hi Ladies!

I thought I would share my Bridal Reflections experience with everyone. I went to the Massapequa salon, as it's just down the block from my house.

Overall, I was really underwhelmed by the experience. I didn't love any dress I tried on. She pulled a ton of dresses, but only about 4 were styles that I was looking for. Even after my entourage and I explained what we did/did not like about the dresses she pulled- she didn't look for others. I understand it's probably overwhelming for her as well. She was very nice, just not as efficient as I'd hoped (maybe bc I had the last appointment of the day, ha).

I had only planned on going to BR and Kleinfeld but I feel like now I have to add more appointments.

Oh, and the opinions of others makes everything even more confusing!! It's almost like you get lost in what YOU want and start focusing on what everyone else thinks is better for you.

So, my first dress shopping experience...underwhelming, eye opening, and unsuccessful! This will definitely NOT be an easy decision.

It all depends who you have as a consultant. Some bridal consultants are overwhelmed in general when you bring a lot of people. I went to multiple salons and when I got to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place I met Andrea and knew I would go NO PLACE else. She was amazing - fabulous and not pushy. I felt like at other salons I went to they weren't really getting my look that I was asking for and kept showing me dresses that I wasn't even asking to try on. It definitely can be overwhelming, but that is why you keep looking until you get that 'feeling' - thats when you know you are at the right place - and ultimately have found the right dress.

OMG! I loved Andrea! She was so fabulous! I got my dress from her!

I hated my experience there!! I must have said 239487239487 times what I wanted (lace, sweetheart neckline, somewhat fitted like a drop waist but not fitted all the way down) and literally like 85% of the gowns were satin! I was really upset and she said that my budget (3k) was too low for lace and I would never find what I want for under 4500... I went to Pronovias in NYC and found about 12 gowns that were exactly what I wanted and below my price point. So many people on here said they had such a great experience at the one in Massapequa, but I must have just had a bad employee lol
