Re: Dress shopping ideas...
ok, i know i'm gonna get yelled at right now - i forgot the name of my bridal plaza..... but i love them. they are right on 110 in huntington, before the mall. if you go north on 110, as soon as you pass the subway, it's right after it on the right hand side.... it's a small little shop, but the women there are great & totally personable......good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Dress shopping ideas...
This is what I just posted on the 04brides thread:I GOT IT!!!!!!
I had NO intentions of buying a dress today. But I did.
We went to Estelles. It was good for getting ideas, but I didn't see anything I loved there, and the sales ladies did not please me.
Then we went to Princess Bridal in Farmingdale. The service was good, I tried on a ton of dresses, and I found one I REALLY liked. I was not crazy about the place though, they tried to avoid telling you the designer of the dresses, and I think they were lieing when they did tell. I did not feel comfortable buying a dress there.
Last I went to Macy's in Smithhaven. The girl there was excellent, and I again tried on a bunch of dresses. I found one there very similar to the one I liked at the second place, and I really liked that one too. I told the girl about the other dress, and she said she thought she knew the dress (it was the same designer), it was in the back because it had been discontinued, she got it for me, and it was the SAME ONE!!!! I tried it on again, and felt like 'this is it!'. She checked for me, but they said they couldn't order it (she had warned me of this before I tried it on). BUT-- its my size, as it is it would need very little alterations (miracle). I bought the sample. We thought it was a sign, the way the whole thing happened. It was half price. It needs dry cleaning, but it is in good condition otherwise.
I am so excited. I would have paid full price for it, but now I don't have to!
To top it off, mom insisted on paying (before we chose a half price one LOL).
Now I need to find a really good drycleaner that works on silk organza....
