Can someone please give me some 'pointers' as to what I should be prepared with when I go dress shopping for the first time?

I have appts on Sat & Sun!

Don't bring a lot of people. It's just a bad idea. Buy a really good strapless bra- you don't want to pull one up all day and you don't want to wear one from the place (ew!).
